ok, well Detox, I just tried to add weather and water to Ascension, however, it gave me an error message.... :cry:

Now someone with ub3r skills needs to make a mod on headlong with like a scripting wind blow, active scenery cars and buses, etc. flying, raining, dark and stormy 8) that'd be cool IMO

You did inject the water static shader and lockouts weather tag into the outcome map before injecting ascension's bsp that has weather and water added? If not, do that. If you forgot, do weather before water as well. Hopefully that helps.

I tried adding weather to sanctuary and it froze. anyone else get it to work?

Did you add all the [deca] and [scen] tags back to Sanctuary? Did you also overwrite the players spawns with Sanctuary's player spawns? Did you add/overwrite the scenery pallette and placement along with the decal pallette and placement? Did you also inject the [weat] tag FIRST then inject the bsp? It's the exact same thing as getting water into a new bsp.

I injected the weather but not the weather tag in the scnr....does thazt matteR?

Nope the weather pallette reflex in the scnr tag is not needed for weather to work

I guess adding weather and water all in one shot was a bad Idea anyway,
But I tried and failed :-(
I don't think I transfered all the required decals/scenery or something.

But awesome job.


Hint: this will be a major part of my next mod :-)

Scenery, decals, and machines don't need to be transfered for Sanctuary to work. When i was beta testing this, Sanctuary was the first map i tried and it worked. Make sure if you are using Gemini to put the map into you move the Death Barrier lower. It should be like -51. Try -250 or something crazy like that.

ok...now I'm confused. I wanted to try the easiest possible scenario.
I opened up gemini in entity.
I selected recursive, parsed, and sounds.
Saved the sbsp to a new folder.
Opened up lockout.
Clicked recursive, parsed.
Saved the snow under [weat] to a new folder.
Opened your tool (<3)
went to scenarios>w/e>w/e>w/e>gemini.sbsp
clicked add weather.
Injected snow into a brand new gemini after clicking recursive and parsed.
Injected the modified sbsp after clicking recursive parsed and sounds.
Signed.
It said I failed to load the map :-/
