Adding Pictures?

Ok, I think I tried exactly what you said, but the only thing I find under the [bitm] tag that starts even starts with 'm' is multiplayer\hill\hill nothing to the effect of what you mentioned. I must be looking in the wrong place, but you did say [bitm], so I don't know.

Ok, I found that, but question, how do I get the picture from that. After selecting that, it populates the screen to the right with text, but I still can't extract or save a picture for the map. I'm still lost at how to extract the picture from this map but thanks for your help thus far.

Sounds like your using Entity 1.3.8. Use a diffrent version, and you should see a picturebox at the very right of Entity.

I am switching between 1.3 and 1.3.8, and I see the picture on the right, but every time I try to save it, it gives me that unhandler error message.

Use Entity 1.3.7, I found Entity gives that error when you inject a Bitmap in the wrong format. Try using another program to inject if that's what you did.

You have to select the [bitm] tag, then right click on that, then extract it.

Ok, I couldn't find v1.3.7, I found a V1.1.7 if that's what you meant.

Also not sure what you meant by saying that Entity gives a error when trying to inject a bitmap in the wrong format. I'm just trying to save it, and it gives me that error. I havn't even got to th einject part yet. But once I do, I will be using a different app to inject it into the manmenu. I will be using Ch2R if I can ever get the dds files.

I wish somebody already had the dds files for the maps downloaded via Memeis. I never dreamed it would be this much trouble to get a map picture saved to a dds file.

EDIT: after futher research, doing this has been a waste of time, as this is not even what I'm looking for. Doing it this way as someone suggested will only fine the original map picture for the map. I need the new modified picture for the new map, not the original picture map for a new map. Do you see what I'm saying. After looking around, the new modified maps must be in the the ContentImage.xbx of Tdata. There is a patch file which is how it must patch itself to the mainmenu on the fly when using the 1.1 update. Am I right?

So if ContentImage.xbx contains the dds. file, how do I extract it? Is there a app that will open xbx files. I read somewhere that someone said that ContentImage.xbx was just a bitmap, yet when I try to open it on the PC, using any Photoshop or any other, it doesn't recongize it.

Any suggestions?

I didn't realize the images in the map were diffrent than the ones displayed in the mainmenu. Use this tool, open up your Patch_v3.lvl files from your DLC folders, and you can extract the correct images from there... Right click on the picture to extract it.

Thank you very much, that looks to be exactly what I need. I'm tired now though, I'm going to fool with this is again tomorrow. I have been at this almost all day. Thanks again to all that replied an gave me suggestions.

Ok, I'm back, good morning to all. I opened the Patch Viewer,and was able to save the image successfully. I then opened Ch2r to edit my mainmenu. I injected it, and it said texture successfully injected, yet heres my new problem. The image is scrambled, kinda like a scramble channel on tv. I can tell that's the correct picture but it has diagonally squiggled lines going through it that distort the pic very badly.

Why is it doing that? I mean I get so close to finding some closer on this, and then it has to do this to me. :x

why use savefile, whilst you can use halomods space?
where's the real deal mt? gimme gimme

btw dude.. download the mimesis patches and use the serenity feature to autoadd if to your mainmenu. it'll save you heaps of time :lol:

Ok, I'm trying to understand wht you just said in the initial reply of your post. Now you mention download the mimises patches and use serenity to add to the mainmenu. Now that I would love to do, if I new where those patches are for download. I have been to memesis's website, and I didn't see any patches for download.

EDIT: after reading your post several times, I see that you are talking to Monkey Terd about hosting the file on Savefile. I'm sorry, at first reading it, I couldn't make out what your were refering to.

I go under globals, then globals.matg, and choose the map location, then right click in the picture, and inject the picture.
