help modding in halo ce

ok i want to mod halo ce and i no i how to convert them and all but when i put a map in spark edit, it doesnt load. whats wrong, what can i do to make it work?

halo ce maps are coded differently, and i believe there is a converting proggy out, but i have no idea how it's named

i have a converter and i convert the map and i mod it in hmt but when i open it in spark edit it doesnt work.

maybe sparkedit can't handle those map files?
or it can't find the bitmaps
