Halo Wars

Post by DrXThirst »

Well, I'm sure that if you're here, then you've heard of / seen Halo Wars. Halo Wars is pretty much a RTS game based off of the Halo novels.

What do you guys think? Will you buy it?

I'll wait for some reviews...I'm not too crazy about console RTS games (I know it's being designed for consoles so it shouldn't be that big of a deal...but I'd buy the PC version with no hesitation).

Command and Conquer Tiberian Wars actually plays very well on a console. So if Halo Wars follows a similar line, it should be just peachy.

RTS games do not appeal to me very much. It just doesn't feel like you're in control, and you spend too much time building at the start of the game, which I find repetitive and dull. But I must say that Halo Wars does look like a goog game. Halo makes anything good :)

I actually don't think I've ever successfully beaten an RTS in my life. They're too damn hard. :'(

While I'm being lazy, does anyone know the currently proposed release date of this?

You mean like a scenario builder like AoE had? (Age of Empires.)

Aye to that, my brother got it for me at Christmas, though I can't be bothered to play the campaign, it does play very well on Console.

I want to mod it and see the structure of the game!..

Hopefully its nothing like the other Halo's.

I want something new.

..Not that I'd actually play it unmodded... I dislike RTS games aswell...

I haven't played much RTS games...None actually. But I will rent this and give it a go. Not worth a buy though in my opinion.

It looks ok. I'll watch reviews and hear what my friends have to say about it. If it's good, I might buy it.

Pretty much same here....

However, the sweetness of a halo RTS may be a big push for me to go against it...

This is because itll have the halo gameplay I've wanted since after #1....Absolutley massive battles.

Agree with Scotty on the massive battle stuff.

I'll probably buy it, myself.
Or rent it, not sure yet.

The gameplay videos look pretty good, though.

I hate using cheats \=
It seems this is more of a place for shooter people than RTS's :P RTS's rule for me though, it looks good but I might not buy it due to the fact it is for a console. I like my keyboard shortcuts..

I'm a fan of RTS games, and I assume the controls will be ok, but I've never played a console RTS. Just like Gametag said, I would probably rather have it for the PC.
