It's a glitch, a mix of the combat and assault helmets.

It does look cool though.

I actually was not able to see the rocket speeding toward me...

I repeatedly told them through proximity chat not to hide under the base, or else they were all going to die.

They refused to listen.

I screw around with them in GIMP. Pretty much all I did was increase color saturation, add a softglow, and sharpen it a little.
