anyways heres what i came up with.
I edit a bitmap, then injecting it back into HMT, it should over right the bitmaps file.
But heres what happening, say im editing boarding action.
I open up detail panel bitmap, i edit it, and reinject into hmt.
when i start up halo and play the bitmap is black..
So heres why i think its happening..
Instead of over righting the bitmaps file it over rights the boarding action file as well as the bitmaps file..
So with this happening, i gets screwed up.
Theres more.. i use my back up on bording action. I start up halo and look at the bitmap.. its the old way(un edited way)
So i go back into hmt and look at the detail strips. And it still shows the edited way...So thus concluding I have no F***ing idea why this is happening. I have no clue how to fix it.
It is NOTthe MIP maps. because this just started happening... IHADit working wthout generating MIP maps long before....
Hope this can help fix the problem.. Anyways im a go play FTW:)
O and Blarg-blarg-blarg! sorry i cant finish evolution with you because of this damned problem..

Not all skins use MIP maps, so you may have edited the ones with out it before, it sounds like MIP to me....
Think of it this way the MIPs are to bitmaps what LODs are to models, if you only edit the highest detail model up close its yours but back up and its the original. Now bitm tags have certian properties that /may/ be read in by hmt when injecting a new .dds. I dont know because i have yet to put time aside to read HMTs source, what i can tell you is DDS headers are genrated from a .bitm tag chunk. Now it would make sense if didnt update that info and trusted the user keep MIP the same. So if u dont have the data from MIP in the .dds when it injects it minuses the first 0x80 bytes then just puts raw data straight in (or thats how my tool injects em at any rate), with out MIP the dds file may be smaller and would only overwrite the first part of the raw data leaving you with a half skinned bitmap.

I know conures like brilliant, but anyway... How do i generate the mip maps.??? Anyways, i still got one question tho...

I still dont no why that is happening..

There is no such thing as a boarding action bitmap file, it doesnt exist. There are bitmaps in a bitmaps.map file, and files in the boarding action.map call on these. Thats how it works.
When you copy one bitmap meta over another, it makes it so they both call the same bitmap, thats the only argument you could make for boardingaction bitmaps.
What you should do is make sure you did no meta swaps, Run everything, especially halo as an administrator (super important, might be your problem right there), and then replace your boardingaction.map and bitmaps.map file.
Sometimes if you dont run halo as an admin, it wont realise changes you've made since the last time you ran it.
