I don't understand why no ones accepting me, but giving her all the offers. It pisses me off really bad. I need a job badly right now.

I don't fucking get beat downs whatsoever. Me and a guy on the other team run towards each other, and I start shooting first. He then starts shooting, when we get near each other (in other words, we ran in a straight line towards each other, no nades, nothing else) and then we both melee at basically the same time. I die, he runs away fine.
It happens ALL the time. 7/10 times the other guy wins the beatdown fight. Am I missing something here? Technically I should be winning if i'm hitting him first...

Welcome to Bungie's new melee system, which Bungie Forum members have been complaining about since the game came out.Kirk wrote:I don't *** get beat downs whatsoever. Not sure what the problem is, but I'm pretty sure they have people working on it.

If the melees are simultaneous, then the person with less life dies.
Someone did a study, and if that situation occurs, there's actually a second or so that you can do extra damage, before the melee registers. So, the person that keeps firing even after the other person melees, will get the kill.
I don't know if there's any credibility, and I don't base any strategy off of this information, but that may be the problem.

Maybe he/she is more accurate? If you're far away from each other(about 20 in-game feet), rapidly pushing the trigger instead of just holding it is much more accurate, and therefore does a lot more damage(I Do use this strategy, it works).Kirk wrote:Right, the first point would be bashed by the fact that i'm shooting first, so the only thing I can think of is the fact that i'm melee;ing too early like you said.. And Good luck.

The melees aren't synched. The other person technically hits first, but the time between his console, the host, then your console is enough to make it appear different. It's very annoying, but, as they've said, the actual event isn't incorrect, it's merely showing up as incorrect. The reason for this in Halo 3 is that they tried to reduce host advantage, which causes some synchronization issues.
Melee Maybe
Although we're paying close attention to it, melee is still causing folks a headache. The primary complaint is that the fellow with the most health wins the simultaneous melee strike. There are a couple of problems here. One is that the way this victory or loss is displayed on screen is aesthetically frustrating:
Situation: Two people melee almost simultaneously and one wins.
Display: One melee fails, then, a fraction of a second later, your opponent's, succeeds.
This looks worse than it is, sometimes because of network conditions. You'll have to take our word for it that in spite of the apparent gap in time and animation, the two strikes were effectively simultaneous. The problem is for most people that it looks bad and is dissatisfying. But we do appreciate the frustration this causes and we are looking into it. As many have noted, the alternative, host advantage, is not preferable.

Some kid that rarely talks in my first period actually said something so I was like "Hey you talked" only to realize he looked like Alvin from the chimpmunks, he was absent for a week and turns out he had his wisdom teeth pulled out and a blood vessel some how popped making his face swell up even more than it normally does after getting wisdom teeth pulled.
I got to get my removed soon or else my dentist said they could mess up my bottom teeth by pressing them against one another but after seeing this kid I think I'll pass. Then again one week off school sounds good.
Anyone who got their wisdom teeth got a story?
