Is this new I don't recall hearing about this piece of equiptment.

Taken from gamespot's review of tsavo highway and some multiplayer action...
Finally, we saw a deployable energy shield that only provides protection on one side, rather than the 360-degree coverage of the bubble shield. The advantage of this one-sided shield is that you can fire through it with human projectile weapons. However, it will still stop Covenant energy weaponry, so this thing ought to be especially handy during the campaign mode.

And is the 'flare' shown at GC07 is that equiptment? I noticed a couple brutes throw them to blind the player.

Just a quick question, is the Spartan Laser even going to be in campaign? I know, stupid question, but for some reason, it seems like it won't be. :? (I don't know why I think it won't)May I have some clarification please?

Thanks. :)

Does anyone agree that the needler seems just alittle over powered? It tracks from really far away as well, The explosions of the shards are strong!, I can see why you can't dual wield it, but I think its still alittle over powered.

Whilst it can track pretty far...Its not really effective from a distance though, can avoid it unless they're moving slowly or standing still.

I say its more of a close range gun.

It can kill pretty quick though...But so can a lot of guns.

I liked to picture the Needler as sort of the Covenant version of the shotgun. At least in Halo 1 & 2. So powerful is good.

They made the Needler actually worth picking up. It can be beat by a smart player from medium-long range, but short range it dominates...unfortunately, faster firing rate means it burns through ammo pretty quick. It's balanced, but it's a pretty high tier close range weapon in my opinion.

The plasma pistols dual wield are pretty strong too, they made the normal shots do alot more damage then in the first 2 games, Its good that it can't track as well with the charged shot, but if you dual wield them and just keep shooting the normal shots they can do alot of damage, well more then normally, I like it.

That is very true...it would also seem as though they can fire even faster than the Halo 2 version as well.

Well I had just about mastered the plasma pistol/BR combo in Halo 2, so I've never doubted the power of the Plasma Pistol.

Simply put great weapon line up standard and for future modding bungie on that score has outdone its self.
HOWEVER they ruined the magnums period.

Shucks im biased but im sure im not the only one who feels they have made the pistol/magnum simply unusable.

well until i get some mod tools
