"That gorgeous water features real displacement physics"

"The shattered shell of the New Mombasa orbital elevator -- all 1,000 kilometers of it -- litters the landscape, a relic of the Covenant's first visit to earth (in Halo 2). But it's nothing compared to the devastation you'll witness at the end of the stage "

And so forth... also... we finally get to see a little bit of FORGE. 8)

How is it that Halo 3 has better water than a game based on water? [/bioshockrant]

I really think Halo 3 is gonna just amaze everyone so much.
I wonder how the ghost and warthog and other vehicles will handle in water. I also hope you can still go somewhat into the water in Last Resort.

You can go into the water. As we've seen (In the beta), vehicles react dynamically to water. They slow down while driving through, etc.

Yea, but I was more curious of the deeper water.
I want to see vehicles just break if they get flooded. :P

I highly doubt they'd let you get in deep enough to get the vehicle under water. I'm betting there's a drop off there.

I see no problem going under water.. As long as the vehicle breaks or something..

But a drop off would be better for game play reasons.

The only thing is a drop off isn't realistic in any way.

When was the last time you were at a beach and didn't go in the water because of the mile long drop after a couple feet of sand. :?:

But still, either way Halo 3's gonna be awesome. :P

Hehe, in halo 1 you could keep driving out and halo 2 had the drop off...I just think it'd be blocked or deep enough. As the beta demonstated, you slow down considerably, even if you were going top speed in the mongoose.

eeep, so much to read! ill edit post later.

This thread now includes the IGN discussion, seeing as how they finally updated it (About 5 days later than the date they gave).
