The mystery of the Assualt Rifle

Post by DrXThirst »

Well, ever since the beta, once thing that has caught my eye in every video and keeps be wondering everytime I see it is the arrow above the ammo counter (ON THE AR) it makes me wonder if it's leading us somewhere.

You can see it in all 3 of these videos :

1. Multiplayer Montage
2. Single Player Montage
3. Random People Playing

Example image : Image

I think it was in Halo 1 as well, however in Halo 3 it might lead us somewhere. To one of the skulls maybe? What about multiplayer? Many questions have been asked. (More than the 2 I just asked ;p)

Its leads you to the ark. Keep going north, etc etc till you get to the north pole. You then will understand that I lied, and now your freezing to death. ;X

In Halo 1, that compass pointed towards the gas planet Threshold. I'm assuming the first Halo orbited that planet. In Halo 3, it most likely will point to Magnetic North.

EDIT: Incorrect planet.

ya i noticed that and yes if bungie wishes to make this as realistic as possible then why not have a compass that points north?

It just points North...
You designate it in the sbsp tag, I believe.
Nothing more.

Oh well dang. I tried following it in the beta and ended up in some really cool spots. Especially one sniping spot in the back of highgrounds. (Where the big mortar thing is)

Local north is defined in the scenario tag for the map.
In Halo 1, it was always set to point towards Threshold, the gas giant.

Please don't say "we" as if you speak on behalf of the entire Halo community.

If they do, it will be fixed.
BXR for the Magnum worked, but I reported it directly to of Bungie's bug handlers. Oh well...

Also, if a doubleshot is found, it will be fixed.
