Help in turnin Shadows on and specular plz help

Ok i went into video set up and Shadow and Specular are grayed out i cant turn em on, WHY NOT! i have a great ghapics card. Is it possible to make PC graphics the same As Xbox if you have shadows and Specular on.
HOW DO I MAKE THE SHADOWS AND SPECULAR OPTIONS WORK

Oh shit, are you serious? I'm getting my new vid card soon, and if it doesn't work, i will be sooooo pissed off.

i dont doubt you have a good vid card, but it probably doesnt support T&L and that other one, i had a good vid card b4, but it didnt have T&L, so, in other words, your vid card isnt a good one for Halo.

Your video card isnt good enough to support the shaders and high requiring effects like that.

Hypothetical question: If my computer can support a certain video card and said video card specifically says it can support halo, will i have a problem?

p.s. It's a ATI Radeon 128mb 9600 video card...hypothetically, of course.
