yeah people at the forums are mad because they are saying that he is too plain and that his armor has no bumpmaping or whatever.

I really try to avoid threads of people bitching. I take the thirty seconds I would have spent insulting the person to ponder why people would go on Bungie's site to talk bad about Bungie. I would find it better suited for them to go to Epic's site or something where they can spend all day bitching about how Halo 3 doesn't look like Gears with other people who fail to understand how idiotic this argument is. Surely there's an underlying logic that I am not dumb enough to grasp.

and the whole gears v halo is a stupid argument and has been pointed out copiously that halo and gears are aiming for different styles of art, but stupid people like to compare apples to car tires.

Well the new pic is really amazing and I think it shows just how good the graphics are turning out to be.

i dont think that people realize that with blue ray and hddvd stuff graphics like this are the norm, like on PS2 the first games that came out were crappy but with time ones that really knew how to harness the power of the system started to come out with games with good graphics, MGS2 and 3 are good examples. Games like gears and halo 3 have good graphics with what we were used to, but in the future every game has good graphics and such things wont matter anymore.

Could you please explain how disk formats that aren't all being used have to do with storing minimalistic rendering engines? Unless you're suggesting the code for said rendering engine is nearing 50GB...

People will always complain. If you could have perfect graphics, unbelievably amazing, people would still whine that it's too real, or it's too perfect, it can't be perfect, because realistic isn't perfect, but it can't be realistic, because realistic isn't perfect enough.

It is inescapable, and that's all there is to it. You will never seen a day when people don't have something to complain about.

It's quite useful according to people who have used it.
