If the original 512 skin looks fine then why shouldn't you be able to make another good 512? Because you used filters and sharpen? yes.

no i didnt use filters i used brushes to do it.
exept for the front i used filters for that.

because he doesn't know how to create skins from scratch. he doesn't know how to create basemaps and apply detail.

Despite the fact that it's only a filter, and a little editing, I rather like it. A tad too sharp, but cool none the less.

My good freind RYDER's one was better, and I am using it right now in a mod, with full credit to him and several other bitmap maker's.

dont start that thing of "so and so's skin is better than your's" personaly i prefer this skin over ryders ryder's looked more like a bunch of police and construction work tape put in the gun then slapped with a few other things.

He used a filter ON THE FRONT. Big deal.
3-and-a-half days. Maybe the same effect could have been done with a filter, but he didn't do it all with one. He put some effort into it.

Oh, and if you think that someone else's is better, that's fine. But there's no reason for you to say that here, because he didn't ask if someone else's was better.

For the record, I think it looks cool. Maybe a larger bitmap could have been used if he was using CE, but he obviously isn't, and that's why this isn't in the Halo CE section, but rather the Halo PC section.

And, to those of you who think that flame wars are fun, grow up, or at least take it somewhere else, because this topic is not called "Flame Here!". It's called "[skin]H3 Assualt rifle my version" because this is about his Halo 3 AR skin, not because he wants everyone to act immature to one another.
