assault rifle models please
hey
i just got my milkshape registered and i was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some ideas for the assault rifle.
the only good model ive made so far is a desert eagle (pistol)

yeah i wana try find out how to make the assault rifle have a secondary fire because then i could make a sic assault launcherMegaPhenom wrote:how bout a normal assault rifle that can also fire grenades.....hint hint: like the one in Scarface which he used in the end

I will have to post a pic of the one I made. I call it a T.A.W.(Tactical Assult Weapon) it is a tad smaller in size compared to the AR, but holds more ammo as well as increased fire rate for those close-combat situations. In the future I would like to somehow add a secondary fire on it(nade Launcher). Only problem I have had in the model are points that are referenced by the HUD as that has been chopped off. When I bring into xbox, I get faces keep moving up to the HUD even though they have been edited. I think now that it is because of magic referencing displays on the HUD that is causing this to happen. I have yet to try into PC, but I am going to try next with a lil XML editing to disable callouts to the HUD and hopefully will eliminate my problem. Seeing now only on PC am I able to rebuild the map for now. Hopefully once this is possible for xbox I can do same and release to share with everyone. But will not release until I have this fixed as I don't wanna put out anythingn incomplete.

It would be better and easier for me to post a picture of it. Tonight I'm gonna try to rebuild BG on PC with a fix on the XML to see if it comes in proper. I hope that my idea will work, and will just have to wait for a way to rebuild the xbox maps. I will more than likely just post in the files section as it would be easier than finding somewhere to host the pics.
BTW, I also have a new BG mod I have been workin on which is similar to the PC moon gulch mod, but with an added center base and a set of teleporters going up to a nice lil sniper roost. I tried not to overdo it with the blocks either so it still should remain a fun level without changing the map too much. I am still tryin to fix my new model to inject right, and tryin to get to the UI bitmaps so it shows the weapon to pickup before I can put that one out.

Well, I tried the map rebuild with the removed pointers to HUD, and still not workin right. I still get the spikes. It must have something to do with the model injection in HMT. Not 100% sure on this, but looking that way. I will have to 2x check dependencies in other spots than the Weapon dir, but I didn't get any errors on the map rebuild, so that part is lookin good. If anyone has any input on my problem it's much appreciated.

Ok i'm a noob and all but...
I'm a noob at these things but i'm wondering...is it possible to replace the flashlight, with an attack? so like when you press the flash light button it creates a secondary fire?

Are you talking about spikes that appear on the MasterChief because I got those once in Damnation and I thought I was doing something out of the editing range of HMTv3 to cause this but I simply Deleted my cache files on Xbox got a new Damnation cache file and started over no problems, I think I must have done some little something to corrupt the file because I couldn't fix it and had to start over. Also the spikes I got on Masterchief went through his midsection at an angle all the way to the ground and was only visible by using a weapon scope.
No, these are spikes that move back to the original position of the HUD on the AR. I totally removed the top part of the gun, and there must be pointers that keep bringin the faces back up to the HUD. I have even tried a map rebuild duplicating the AR into my new weapon with removing all traces of the HUD in the XML files and still a problem. So at this point I think I am done working on until a new version of HMT comes out or something magical happens and the HEK appears(which doesnt look good at this point). I really like this new model, but for one i don't want to put out if it's not correct, and two because it not bein finshed dont really want anyone finishing my idea for me.

Would be nice to be able to rebuild xbox maps for once or maybe even edit the BSP mesh so we can at least have some changed maps if not new.
