help making a new rifle

ok im lookin for a way 2 make a new rifle and its coming along descently cuz i have never tried... or it seems 2 me its coming along nicely lol i have the barel made for the sniper part and i want there 2 b a nade launcher under it ive got that made n i got buncha little ridges n it looks quiet spiffy 2 me but i cant figure out how 2 make a trigger n a trigger gaurd.... im makin this on milkshape and yea its a lil hard this is what i have so far.. http://img351.imageshack.us/img351/1668/rifle24iq.jpg

ok i have a few questions....

*what is the best way 2 make a trigger n trigger gaurd?

*how do i make the stock of the gun the part against ur shoulder rounded n not squared?

*is there a way to subtract an area of an object like put like grooves in the magizine cartriges (srry bout spelling lol) and holes in barrel for air 2 escape?

*and is there nething else i should worry about not knowing how 2 do later on in my moddling of this gun?

i know it is but i need 2 know how 2 make more.... if ur so keen on critsizing me then u should teach me how.... i must say for dling the prog n looking at it for an hour n i got that that is half desent i know im a new guy with this shiz never made ne models in my life sooooo thats y i seek help

Get a better program, Milkshape fails.

It isn't great, but it'll do.

Then, go to Katarn's Gun Modeling for Dummies tutorial (it's a sticky in this forum) and read through that, and follow the links off there as well. After a little bit of playing with the tools, you should be able to go from that to something like this. That was my 4th model, I think. Eventually, you'll be able to make models more like this, this (yes, I made that, it's not ripped from Halo and I didn't use a ripped model for reference either) and this.

I'm not even that good a modeler, IMO. Guys like Snaf, cooldude and Katarn do some amazing stuff, follow their advice and one day maybe you'll be that good.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are?They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

snaf for some reason that thing for sourceblog isnt working, unless it is and i dontk now it. Well its not coming up with anything Halo CE related.

modeling... is modeling... the tutorial may be for another game... or something else entirely... but either way, it'll still get you to know the tools better and make you better at modeling

EDIT: *checks the link*.... and... yea... there isnt really a site there... heh
