Skinning Help for Halo Demo

Post by alfaalex101 »

I got Halo Map Tools 3.5 and I went into the bitmap category and took out a texture of a health packin dds format. I downloaded a plugin for Photoshop (DDS plugin) and then opend and edited the health pacl and saved it back as a the correct file name with the dds extension. After I pressed save a nvidia screen came up (from the plugin) and gave me a bunch of options. I saved the format in explicit alpha (DXT 3), generate mip maps (becase before I opend the picture Photoshop asked me if I wanted to display mipmaps but I didnt so it has to generate the mipmaps now), box filter (under MIP map generation), and I pressed SAVE. After, I went to HMT, went into the bitmap category and selected the healthpace and pressed INJECT and I selected my file. Then an error popped up and said that the file must be in DX2 or DX3.

Can anyone help me with this issue? I really want to get my skin into halo so I can start the skinning for my realism mod!

THANX!

(and this is my first post on halomods forums!!)

The error message on HMT is messed up. The actual DXT format is displayed here:
