Lately playing online I have become very discouraged with the fact that the modders are no longer scared by bungies apparently empty threats. I am also discouraged because of the fact that many people I used to enjoy playing with are so paranoid of being mod\standby that they resort to backing out of repeated games or attempting to load only old maps. I hate with a passion all of these people who ruin everyones gaming experience so that they can have a shiny big number that symbolizes nothing but how well they can play or cheat in a VIDEO GAME! My only wish is that there was something I could do, but I am very inexperienced in modding (kinda understand it in theory, have used numerous modding programs without anything spectacular) so besides asking any modder/modders willing to take up the challenge of creating someway in which to combat modders I will gladly donate $100 to the cause, hell maybe even more if it's something really good, I'm just sick of being cheated against I just want to play.If this has already been posted than I hope someone can point me in that posts direction. Anyone interested please post or pm me.

First off I see what you mean voyde I didn't really think about the fact that I am still asking for a way to mod on live albeit for the common good. I also want to reiterate that I know very little about halo2 modding, but isn't there a way maybe to like create enough errors when somebody else mods that it ends game/fails to load/boots modder, anything? I know I probably am asking for something impossible but hell there are bsp injections and all kinda other crazy shit I just don't think there is very much motivation when it comes to a project like this. I mean f*ck that sh*t would be awesome if there was just some way to make modding useless/pointless or less productive all around.I also personally know many people other than me that would be willing to donate for some kind of software to curb modders. I mean man there is nooo way to render the live mods useless even though we know exactly how they do it??
Well, I think its going to be a one-sided issue here. Everyone here is obviously against XBL modding, and even if you were for it, you wouldn't say anything because it would result in an account ban here at halomods. www.bungie.net has a good forum about people who want to whine about modders, its called the Zanzibar forum

Back after more then a year away from the modding community.

ouch! but i was thinking, what about a program without going on the xbox like a program for your computer/router that checks the incomming ips for the correct map settings?Fantom13 wrote:Well, I think its going to be a one-sided issue here. multi-genre obviously that is a good idea but I don't think m$ will do that, that is why I'm posting here. but hey the isp idea is a step in the right direction, that is an idea that is also not reversible as in it can't be used to cheat. Although it's not as cool of an idea as some kinda hack that would just boot modders it definently would make modding less beneficial hell lets roll with it. thanks mods for letting this stay hopefully we can create a better online gaming experience. Anybody willing to start working on something let me know, the $100 still stand.
edit:Hey an isp program could even theoretically check for stanby?

couple of things, first off someone over at xboxscene mentionedthat there was a w.I.p. program designed to combat modding over kai and xbc, he said he thought it was being done by the guy who first did the auto-aim?? Also I was wondering how hard it would be to just port over whatever does the map check for halo1?? D*mn now I'm really kicking myself in the *ss for not learning how to code.

I would think that we would have less resources than bungie but we have more options, also for bungie to release something it has to be damn near perfect for a wide range of people whereas a scene program doesn't. I can't really imagine that bungie attempted a program for PC that could combat cheating, but maybe I'm wrong. Also your looking at it the wrong way the hackers break into the bungies system whereas we need to hack the hackers(if that makes any sense). But once again I really don't know what I'm talking about, I just wish somebody with alot of expeience would check this out. Like owned said its gotta be possible because "modders and hackers will always find a way"
