Designated Servers

What are designated servers? Who can make them and what do they do? What do you need to make them?

I believe you mean dedicated* servers.

Anyone can make them, but I recommend that you only download and use the program if you have #1. A very powerful gaming PC and a very fast connection. or #2. A separate computer to run the server program on.

The best dedicated servers are paid servers that the administrator rents out from a company like 1&1 or ClanHosting.

To get the Halo PC dedicated server program go here.
Signature exceeded 75KB.

i highly doubt u can use a dedicated server for Mac's. good connection = 1 mbps or higher...got 1.5 mbps and i used to run DED and play at same time, not a problem...at least 512 kbps...which will prolly lag not sure

depends what kind of dedicated server of course...

but if you are talking about Halo...
I dont think Mac can support it, although I never tried.

But if you do want to serve off a PC use Yomama's HaloDED2 program.
Its like really easy to setup and use.
