EDIT: Since you seem to be so ggod w/ plugins, could you try and make a plugin that allows you to export/import collision models? I know that somewhere is a tut on hexing the vertecies in collision models, so theoretically you could use that info to make a plugin, but i don't know how. : - \

you put it in the plugins folder of the HMT files, and replace the one you have in there, it also helps a lot when you have a backup of the first plugin you replaced in case you don't like it
