I have been playing halo for over 8 months now, and I have never seen something this weird: I was playing Legendary in AOTCR, pwning as always, I got the the 3 rd opening after you see the invisable elite, I pwned and got to the door guarded by the Two grunts, and I pwned them. Two elites are supposed to come out and only one did...I was like wtf, and went through the door and down the hall about half way, and the elite was just standing there, so I hit it in the back...blood came out and it did not die....it just stood there, i went in front of it and it would not move at all, I used 660 rounds from the assault rifle and 132 rounds for the pistol on it and it was still not dead...then I found that I could just walk through it....this is on Xbox so I cannot get a screen shot on it, but I have a checkpoint right as I was hitting it in the back... , I think this is a one in a lifetime thing but it is really weird....Has this ever happened to you before?, cus it is really freaking me out...lol
hmmm thats interesting... ohh maybe it was that checkpoint thing...i dunno search on HBO (halo.bungie.org for those of you who dont know) but something about certain checkpoints in the game will freeze the characters if they are near where you loading spot is or something...like i said search im not exactly sure
you froze the elite. it happens when you go through checkpoints and if enemies are where they're not suppose to be they freeze. you can throw lotsa plasma's on em and they just stick. then go through another checkpoint and KABOOM!!!
wow... Halo Modders never fail to amaze me with their limited spectrum knowledge. this happens when you pass thru certain loading points. these loading points are poorly designed ones in that it is possible to get an enemy from one loading point into another, where they have no AI code. in fact, they can't seem to move at all...
this was discovered way before your time, Equinox.
a very simple one to find is at the last loading point in AotCR. you know, the one with the hunters, jackals, and grunts just before you step into the new canyon? to do this trick, get the active camo just before the room with the 2 hunters and run. try and get past the hunters, jump over the jackals and grunts, and get to the other side of them. afterward, the grunts should be frozen. try throwing plasma grenades at them, shooting them with needlers, try anything. they still will not move (until...). and yet they will drop their guns...
anyway, deal as much damage to them as you want, and walk back the way to came. the backward loading point is just a little past them. if you load them up with as much stuff as I do, they usually get pushed way thru the hallway into the great grunt beyond...

And another one in AotCR, where you have to climb up the big pyrimid thing, grab a ghost bring it up to the top, and slam your self to the other side of the door, and voila, elites, grunts, and jackals with no AI code loaded. This works on both Xbox and PC.
u know, i got this glitch 2x. both in control room, with no mods. first, an elite froze in the hallway first spoken about, and the second was with the bridge and hunters and the broken bridge. i left that area and noticed the marines were gone. i go back and find them still in a running position in a line.
