Not a bug, the references go to the filename, not the actual scenario name. That's why people are able to play it, it's not the problem. If you're failing to load lockout, look for the lockout above that one that you're failing, there might be two if you've had the update.

Is shared.map in the folder? By the way, if you want to play on XBC, I'd keep with the filenames I assigned.

Yeah, I'm going to re-use the autopatcher, and see if that'll work.

EDIT: Does Shared.map just need to stay as Shared.map? Because it is given as Shared.map....but in the readme it says the file should be SharedCE.map

Yup. It's supposed to be named shared.map, as well as mainmenu.map staying the same name. All of the other maps get a "CEF" added. It's just what the autopatcher gives you.

Re-patching and sending over worked...odd....now that I can play it....amazing job! You have GOT to write a tutorial on how to make the 3 shot unzoomed - 1 shot zoomed Battle Rifle....it's AMAZING.

Well, you need a weapon with 2 projectile chunks (I used the Carbine, because it looks to me like it was the old BR tag). Then you need the latest weap plugin which has the secondary fire stuff on it. The first one should point to first, the second one to the second. Now, just edit chunk 1 (unzoomed), to be 3 shot burst. There ya go.

Hey, can anyone get me a big batch of *ahem* high quality non-blurry screenshots of H2:CE, showing off its features? I've only got a capture card on composite, and it produced some pretty blurry results. Screenshot help would be greatly appeciated. Just post different shots like I did

XD, I found a way to do the single-shot zoom Battle Rifle thing with just DotHalo and AddChunks V.5, so you don't need Insolence anymore...do you want me to tell you so you can get to working on those 4 maps?

No, it's to move the carbine stats over to the BPR, the actual modding was done with ADI for the 3-1shot burst.

Plus, addchunks does weird things to maps, and I don't want to screw up the structure of my maps that much for this. So, it isn't really an option, sorry.

not sure how useful this will be for people, but it helped me.

i wanted to be able to load h2:ce without the 1.1 update and the bungie content maps on my mainmenu.map map selection screen. what i did to fix this is i opened up the default.xbe in a hex editor and searched for "SM" (without the quotation marks). every instance that you see that reads "d.SM" is a reference to the save data in TDATA and UDATA. i changed the d to an e in the .xbe and then saved the file, ftp'd to my box and cleared my cache. unfortunately you still have to clear your cache every time you load the game (if you have original h2 files in your cache) but it worked to get rid of the 1.1 update load and the extra bungie maps off of my map select screen.

take it easy

phlsphr, are you saying that what you did makes the game not look for the things in TDATA? Because if so, that's a really helpful thing to know.

yes. it makes the game think it's entirely different (aside from the cache drive problem). from then on the game has an entirely different TDATA and UDATA folder. instead of 4d530064 it's 4d530065. thus, doesn't load the updates, etc.

So that also means it makes a new UDATA folder? So if I move my saves into there it'll be just like an exact copy in a way?

Isn't that the same effect as changing default.xbe to abcdefault.xbe or something random like that? Besides the different content directory and stuff?
I just rename the xbe. The autoupdate and the new maps won't load.

Btw XD, there was another topic about removing the lightmap or something like that. I think it would add a really Halo 1-istic feeel to some of the maps.

I've been playing with this mod for the last couple of days. (just barely started using mods-this is only the second one I tried). It's freakin' awesome. A friend of mine at work wants to mod his box just to play this.
Question. How difficult/what would be involved in making the changes in this mod work on other mods? Like, there's a few maps others have made, but I don't so much like going back to normal H2 rules and physics for them. How would I go about modding those mods to play like CE? If it's a trade secret or something I understand, but if not, maybe you could make a tut on it so other modders can work it into their new maps.
