multi object PMI tut *updated*
Multi object/multi level PMI
!! DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU DONT KNOW PMI!!!
this is an update on my multi object/ multi level PMI
We will be getting a tree, vehicle, projectile, rain, and a vehicle. In the tutorial if what you want ain't what I wrote then just substitute the item you want to the item I have listed.
First make a folder called mod where ever, make folders inside mod called-wraith-proj-rain-tree and VIB
1.Open up a map in HMT, I will be using Deathisland I will call it DI for short from now one.
2.Once in HMT go to tools-extract-then batch extract. Click extract meta data then click search, find the build folder inside the mod folder, click start batch extraction. Once its complete, go to tools, extract, bsp/model sections. Extract it to your VIB
3.Now close BG, open up A30, go down to the [scen]scenery tag and click on scenery/trees/pine_tree_tall/pine_tree_tall. Now near the top where it has the meta, below it it should be a check box, then say Recursive. Check that check box and click save meta, save the meta in the tree folder.
4.Now go to the top click tools-generate raw model offset list(CSV file) save the file to a place you will remember like the desktop or the mod folder, then go to tools-extract-raw model, open the CSV file, now look in the list for scenery/trees/pine_tree_tall/pine_tree_tall, click extract.!!!-Important-!! you need to extract the raw model to the

Apart from the fact that some things were quite wrong (you do actually have to add the needler's projectile model), this was a good tutorial. Have a cake.
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

This won't get stickied for three reasons:
1) No pictures
2) Spelling errors beyond measure
3) Not accurate enough. Try mastering a subject before making a tutorial on it.

well once you practice enough with PMI, i spent a day just doing pmi for practice, this 60 step tutorial can be done in 5-10 minutes.
But if you dont want to learn how to PMI multi things then go read a shorter tutorial.

are you serious or just pulling my leg????bcnipod wrote: this might be the best tutorial ever,
and well i think if someone wants to learn how to PMI then you might want to read this because you will learn that + tips so you dont mess up.bcnipod wrote:ut there is no way i will follow 60 some steps to do something, and if i will not there is no way a noob will.

i am just saying. that you might want it shorter. I am on mac so i do not PMI the same way. also i learned to mod from some of Tyler777's tutorials, trust me, make it short, to the point, with pictures, and making sense.
e.g. if this is for multiple things, why not say "repeat steps ** through ** for the rest of the tags" instead of doing it with those too. and combine some steps, seriously do you need a steps that says "click 'ok'"? also i was being theoretical in saying that this might be the best tutorial ever.

make sure your picking the right one if you didn't copy and paste what ever map your doing on the halo maps folder then thats a good chance of what you didn't do. (i did that a whole lot when i first PMI'ed)
if that doesnt help then you need to explain more
if that doesnt help then you need to explain more
