i used this twice today so far. its great if you want to ftp something fast. my cute ftp pro takes a sec to load and doesnt transfer very fast. i like to use it if i am working on a map that i will have to ftp a bunch of times, but this one i use if i ftp a newly patched map quickly.

The point is, he made an FTP application, people use it, and it works good for them. It doesn't matter how it was created, unless you created it, or if it somehow makes it more difficult for the user to use the program. All in all, this may have been a relatively quicker program to create, but it still does it's job, it does it well, and it's an original idea. Therefore I congratulate you on your progress, and hope to see more from you in the future

according to your sig you're a professional computer programmer? Doesn't seem like it, if you want to want to do this in visual basic 6 go to the normal forums I made a tutorial a while back

Even so, it doesnt deserve to be in there. This isnt a "Halo 2 App", and it is pretty simple to make, and SmartFTP is free and has more features.

So you made it because there are no other ftp clients that are as good as yours and free? Whats wrong with Filezilla? Feel free to write your own programs and all that, but don't act like you have made the only competent free ftp client. Worse yet yours isn't open source. IMO FlashFXP is only slightly better than Filezilla and most other commercial ftp clients are equivalent to Filezilla. Filezilla is open-source and free.

If it makes you feel any better XBMC uses a modified version of Filezilla (Filezilla server) for its ftp server. A match made in heaven, I guess, whatever.

This program is like Flash Fxp except its free....this is why i made this program

Sorry not to be critical, but it seems that you made a 30 minute program that is useless. The only similarity between FlashFXP and your program is that they are both ftp clients. My problem is your motives are wrong; you have made this program for acclaim, not to better serve the community. If you had done this for the benefit to the community you would have released your source, but you realize that your program is worthless, therefore nothing is obtainable from your source code that is worthwhile. Subsequently it should not be stickied. My hypothesis is supported by that fact that you are so eager to have it stickied. If your program is worth being stickied chances are it will be stickied or at-least referenced in a FAQ.

Not only do I think it should not be stickied, but I think it should be locked/deleted. If you can add that to your poll.

EDITED to be slightly more coherent. I apologize for my poor sentence structure. Feel free to challenge my argument.

can you just stop telling me the same stuff over and over cause i understand its not saving your lives and im not acting like it ....try reading what others wrote before you type almost the same paragraph as they did

If you would had worded it like that everyone would have congratulated you on a rather nice first program. Then maybe they would have told you how to tweak your code (after seeing the source code) and you would have furthered your knowledge. My advice to you is to PM a mod ask them to lock the topic. Edit you original post or add to it and add a link to this topic under your sig. Presentation is everything. Thats being said not bad for a first program. My first VB program was a slot machine when I was 8
