Its scary it all looks like fake photoshopped pics... But its actually coming... On G4 they had a tiny picture that didn't fit your screen for the live feed. I barely could tell what I was looking at when I saw what was in the pic Tural posted, now that I realize its a mini black and white dash within the dash its just like they twisted the knife they stabbed us with...

EDIT: I actually thought his first pic was real but the real ones just as bad....

I've only skimmed everything...Sounds pretty cool to me. Things like the dashboard and avatars really don't do anything to me...I see no problems there yet.

Gears and fable sounds sweet... Lips sounds good for those that want it (I don't), but they could have tried to change the interface away from Singstar.

All seems kool though

I just saw the Halo Wars trailer, look lamer than I originally thought.

Anyways, they still have the blades, so themes should work properly.

That is not a Microsoft image. They added that to explain it. My picture is what Major was talking about, that picture is not the blade system. That's a picture from like two years ago. There are no themes. That is not the new guide. That site is misleading.

Oh.

That sucks for a lot of people. Me honestly, the only themes I bought were 1 Cod4 and 1 Halo 3.

Never got into the whole theme thing since I would be spending more time playing the games...

Not really a surprise that Microsoft screws people over.

Clarification on Netflix. You can only download the videos if you pay for Live and Netflix. It's just a way to stream videos instead of them coming in the mail to you.

Indeed. Also for those interested this currently already exists for people with a Vista Media Center PC. Google Streaming Netflix to 360. Its not an official app but from what I have heard it works fine tho the UI is a little slow.

Play from hard drive. Copy your games from the game disc and play directly from the hard drive. Not only will the drive not spin, but load times are quicker, as well. Of course, you will still need the disc in the tray to prove you own the game.

Should help people who have trouble keeping discs clean. Also, maybe the fans won't have to run as hard, so that it can keep quiet.

Yeah, because that'd be a huge potential customer base down the drain for Netflix if it was free for all XBL Gold users.
Sounds cool about the queueable Marketplace stuff.

I'm so relieved that my themes and gamerpics will still be usable, but to be a little bit honest the dashboard doesn't look that horrible at all now that I know my themes and gamerpics are still useful.

It's better, but still fails to attract my attention.

Furthermore, it seems like most of the attention is towards the left side of the screen, rather than centered. This is annoying and confusing and totally inefficient. It's like seeing a big L with some info in the vertical and then a long line of blar in the horizontal while all the leftover space is ignored and empty. Overall, an experience displeasing to the eye and brain. In addition to all this half the info in the menus are cut off the screen forcing you to backtrack through the menus and lists to see things you've passed, which is no good at all. They could have copied Coverflow, which has the point of interest in the center, rather than the left which allows you to see both the future options and previous ones. Doing this would probably be getting too close to coverflow though, but regardless it'd be much better.

EDIT: This empty space could, however, be a place where ads could be placed.

EDITx2: Will Portal: Still Alive require The Orange Box/Portal for 360 to be played, or is it a standalone XBLA title? I'd assume standalone, but i'm not positive.

Haha I would LOVE to be able to still chat with people during a movie. Just to riff it and what-not.

Maybe even the little avatar's silhouette at the bottom of the screen, just like in my sig.

Standalone, and it's its own game, with new levels and whatnot.
