Anyone gonna play Super Smash Bros Brawl?

Post by M9 HE-DP Grenade »

Who's played the original smash bros games? I played them a long time ago, but hell they were fun. My friend is getting it this Sunday, so I might go over and play it at his house. As I was looking for previews on youtube I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mRtuum-xng

I thought that was pretty funny

I still play Melee up to this day. I have been a fan since the day the first Super Smash Bros. came out.

I was going to get Brawl at midnight but then the idiot (worker) told me they weren't doing a midnight launch anymore. I'm gonna maybe try some other places rather than Game Stop.

I still play both the original and Melee (mostly the original, it kicks fanny), and I am uber-pumped for this one. Snake + Sonic = win. I'm going to get it tomorrow, but I can't play it til Monday. :( Ah well, I'll live.

I got brawl today, extremely fun, going to take a while to unlock all the characters though.
I was surprised that some of the starting characters were starting characters. Can't wait to kick my friends ass online, we've been waiting for this for a long time.

I've been playing Super Smash Brothers, the original, to this day.
Yes, it's that good.

I just hope that this one lives up to my expectations.

I did enjoy this little taste of the characters' Final Smashes.

It is expected, and demanded.

They really screwed up with Melee so hopefully they can redeem themselves with this.

I would love to, but I just can't justify the purchase of a Wii.

Bowser's final smash is pretty cool. I always wanted to play as giga bowser. lol

I loved the original back in the day but I'm in the same boat as GTAF. I can't justify paying $300 to play the new one when there aren't any other games for the Wii that I want.

Can't play til tomorrow, but I have it. Thanks to the Dojo, I know just about everything about it, though, and I'm excited as heck.

I'll probably purchase it as soon as I can. Recently I have had problems with spending money... Either way I'm sure it will live to the expectations. The lead designer is well trusted by many people

Got it tonight. Fucking great. I got Ness in my first 20 minutes of play out of the blue, so that was pretty neat. I'm gonna ride the campaign and see how it goes. Controls didn't take long to get used to either.

No motion control. Now I have no clue why they didn't have a version for gamecube aswell :p.

Size restrictions would come into play(This is the first duel layer Wii game).... and... why the hell would they keep making gamecube games? haha

I got mine at midnight at launch... I didn't preorder it... and aparently Gamestop was only doing preorders... so when the guy asked me if I had preorderd.... I asked him if I could preorder it..... and he let me haha

:)

clocked about 17 hours on that game today hahahaha

also... Ombre... those are fighting words... People will always complain about sequels, and yes, they did break a few things... but all the extra stuff they added more than makes up for it. Brawl feels a lot like Melee.... but with a few things "fixed"

Is there going to be an OST for this game? I really like the music that I've heard so far. I love the action-y orchestra music ^_^

I used the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Felt surprisingly like the gamecube controller other than getting used to the slightly awkward position of the arrow pad. Once you memorize the buttons you're set. So far my only main problem with the game are some of the aesthetics included in the least visited parts of the game. AA in the Victory screen is really poor, and some of the internal components such as the shaders weren't quite as good as the console can handle.

However I must say, this game is truly impressive. In all honesty is feels more like an upgrade title to Melee, but it's still got plenty of quality content to back itself up as its own title. I'm going to try and get all the characters and beat the campaign a few times today. I'll fill everyone in and get some screenshots if they want. :D Oh, and for those who remain unsure about getting the game, check out Stage 1 of a 3 stage review (still in progress, so keep an eye out for it to finish soon) by my colleague at The Wiire.
