I don't think people should be awarded a winning emblem in a competition, if there is no competition.

Even with like two mods I'd say its hard to call it competition and have a winner.

If I were running it, I would cut it off if not enough people enter... But thats me...

Let's see what JK-47 has to say...

I usually just decide to keep it running, and give them the technical defeat. Either way, the show goes on with another competition, so it doesn't make much difference to me. If I repeatedly keep getting low-submissions competitions, yes, I probably will stop hosting them (one or two more).
Whether he gets an emblem or not is up to the emblem czar.

Well, there goes all my work down the drain. I guess my luck just sucks. As long as this competition is up, I will still try to make a good submission.

Think about it though...this competition is actually getting, granted only a few, people to do some mods and release them. Hell, even I started something for this. I'm glad it's still going. These forums are becoming more of a "halo" site then a "halomods" site. Each section is kind of going down the tube. Besides, it's a picture by a persons name...nothing more, nothing less.

I think that it shouldn't be DQ'd unless theres only one person running. It's not even an emblem, just a new avatar and a little 2x2 picture.

Im hoping to see more mods with a no theme rule, so more creativeness can be put in. I actually plan on entering next month's contest for the PC sector.

Yeah, I thought about entering some of my craziness, but it's skin only this month. C-Poo doesn't roll like that. But I like how you're trying different things. I hope the competition stays alive. I think it inspires people.
Retired. Thank you neodos, DemonicSandwich, DarkShallFall, Dragonfire, foxfanatic2317, GOWO and everyone in the hall of fame.
If you want to know how I did something, take apart my mods.

Next month I was planning on doing a 'fun mod' month. I'm sure that's bound to get more entries.

Can I submit a UI or does it have to be a playable map?

I think it is more than just a picture by his name. It is a picture to show he has created a good mod and is being awarded for it. Also when people look at what he says they can see he has contributed something to the public and it was worthy of recognition.

Personally, I think Andrew_b should be awarded at least an emblem for creating so many mods and for helping others. This looks like a great mod and I would download it if my HaloPC still worked.

I will give you that argument. It does at least show the person did make something worthwhile but at the same time then you are also creating the argument that if only one person enters...they win automatically, thus allowing them the guaranteed emblem...which could be argued on whether they deserved it or not.

So, I personally think they way it is now, works out just fine. No matter how you look at it, there won't be a perfect solution. Though i'm not directing this at specifically you, when I say "you". I mean anybody in general.

I heard of the fun mod thing. What does that entail, go a bit more in depth as to what is considered a "fun mod"

I have a feeling I wont be signing up for august.

Fun mod, meaning something like a captainpoopface mod. There's a certain point to it rather than a theme change.. For PC it could even just be an AI mod. Really, just something with some sort of objective that's outside of a regular slayer game; or enhances the experience, hence the word 'fun'.

Needs moar emblemz

I would enjoy making a fun mod but I haven't modded for so long now I couldn't make anything good at all and I don't feel like modding as much anymore.

Yes. As long as it fits a forest theme.
