If you're asking about this month.. If it somehow fits into the theme, sure.
If next month, definitely.

would something like http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=78603 fit the "fun theme" for AI, since it's giving a new objective to it.

Cause if so, then I might enter the new map I'm working on. If not I'll wait till it's a themeless month to finish it.

Don't do theme, theme can help some to find soemthing to do but forest wasn't very original, or if you choose a theme at least let it be a mod not only a skin.

Yeah, this month was a horrible idea. As I said, next month will be limited to mods that have the purpose of being fun/have replay value, instead of aesthetics. A lot of people seem to like the idea, so I'm sticking to it. Unless of course I get enough people against the idea.
I'm working on mine

My submission: The Wilds

Description: A heavily forested canyon. Due to the humidity and moisture many things have grown moss on them. Shrubs and other smaller plants have made their way around the entire area. That goes the same with boulders and rocks. What park benches that haven't fallen apart as still standing strong.

Pictures/Movie: Please click link attached to the name above.

Download is located in the link as well.

If this format of submission isn't what you would like, let me know and i'll fix it up.

I'm going to have to vote "The Wilds" for MOTM for Halo 1. That is... beautiful.

sorry andrew

Well, by default Kibito and Andrew are the winners. Kibito did his for Halo 1 Xbox.

I think if no one else competes, the competition should be cancelled until the next month. It would be unfair if a small, easy mod won a prize when many better ones fell in another, bigger competition. (Not saying Andrew's and Kibito's mods aren't awesome).

Of course, they should be allowed to compete in the next competition that fits the themes for their mods.

I'm guessing because they are different platforms.

Hey Paul, when you won your MOTM did you have any competition or was yours the only one? I can't remember.

While that may be a good idea...A month is a long time to have to wait to even see if you will have more people to contribute. Especially like Halo1 xbox. Everyone knows there aren't many people left that mod it. I'd be annoyed if I had to wait another month JUST to see if somebody else would enter the MOTM for Halo1 xbox. Now, I will admit winning by default because of lack of entrance is also kind of weak...it's all for fun. So in conclusion, I think the way MOTM is handled is just fine. Like I said somewhere else, there is always a pro and con to tweaking rules of something. There is no, and will be no perfect solution.

I'm guessing because they are different platforms. Each mod competition inside this MOTM is categorized by which platform it was modded for. Also, if you grant those two into the same category...it would be unfair. Only because for genuine Halo1 xbox modders, I am fairly sure they have less options open to them to mod with.

Maybe a vote determining whether the mods are good enough to actually win?

Maybe a small list of standards. Like whether the mod has a skin. It has weapon mods, vehicle mods, HUD mods, physics mods, player mods etc...

Voting may hurt ones feelings as much as it would accomplish what needs to be done. I don't really like the idea of voting only because if somebody get's their mod voted not likely to win because of how bad it might be...that could really deter someone from wanting to enter again or even make another mod. Likewise, it may help then want to do better but I personally believe it would do the latter. But that's just me and my beliefs.

Anyways, I think it would be easier on people if we had a set standard the mod reached. What say you people? :D

Well, we won. And since there is a theme, there was competition you see. We had to make a forest to enter. So the fact of making a forest = win. So therefore, the completion of the theme should be enough to get us an emblem. If we didn't make the forest, we would be disqualified. See my point?

I guess so.
I sense Andrew_b wants an emblem.

Ahh just give it to them. Does it really make a difference? It's just a little sticker for christ's sake.

Next month there'll probably be a lot more competition. I know I'm entering, and I'm sure a lot of others are as well.
