Mod of the Month Submissions

Post by JK-47 »

Mod of the Month

Welcome to the June 'mod of the month' competition. Before posting your
mods, please take the time to review this month's rules.

Rules

- All entries must be submitted by June 29th, at 11:59 PM. Anything submitted after that will not take place in the competition.

- All mods entered must follow Halomod’s standards, such as no pornography, etc.

- This month, there will be no theme or set standards. I'm giving you the freedom to do anything you would like. However, for those entering a Halo PC mod, I'm not allowing custom BSPs. I will allow custom content, such as weapons, scenery, vehicles, bipeds, etc. But no BSPs.
If you have any questions concerning this, feel free to ask me in a proper way (I don't want to hear "but i leik to maek new bspz foar mai modz ur a newb this is ghey im not competing").

- I don't want to see any complaining about rules in this topic (you may PM me if you have any complaints), and I don't want to see any fighting. If you give me grief, you will be disqualified from the competition. I'm doing this out of my free time, and my pocket (see prize). Like I said, if you have any questions, feel free to do so. But do so in a pleasant manor.

- This competition will be for the following games:
Halo 2 Xbox and Halo PC.
For Halo PC, as I said previously, I will allow custom content (new scenery, new weapons, etc), but I will not accept any mods with a custom BSP.

- The voting will take place in a new topic. I will compile a list of the submitted/accepted mods, and you will base your vote on the user who made it. You may vote for yourself if you feel your mod is better.

- Don't be cheap. You may not submit a mod for both games in an attempt to win a prize at both. Give everybody an equal chance. If I see anyone post a mod for both games, I will disqualify you completely from this month's competition.

- Please limit your mod to one map only. I will not accept major mods that modify the whole game. Just one map. For the PC users who decide to do a skin/mod, you may post your map and bitmaps.map. I’m not looking to see huge game overhauls here Wink

- If you are disqualified and would like to plead your case, PM me. Keep it out of the topic.

- When submitting your mod, there are a few requirements you must follow:

Mod name
Description of mod
Pictures and/or movie
Download

You may do this in any format you like. But your submission must include the said requirements.

Rules are subject to change.

Prizes

Assuming you read the rules, I'm going to go ahead and announce the prizes. I will be giving a first place prize to the winner of the Halo 2 competition, and one to the winner of the Halo PC competition.

1st place - 1st place Badge/Signature/Avatar.

2nd place - 2nd place Badge/Signature/Avatar.

3rd place - 3rd place Signature/Avatar.

You may be wondering what the Badge is. A Badge is a little image that goes under your signature to show you have gotten first or second place in a MOTM competition. The more you win, the higher rank you will be. Kinda like the military's rank system. I will post an image with all the ranking badges later on.

As I had said before, Halo 2 Xbox and Halo PC are more like separate competitions, within the same competition. So the prizing will be handed out according to the game.

Let the games begin!

Post your submissions in this topic. You may edit your submission, but only until June 29th, 11:59 PM.

Once again, I don’t want to see any fighting in this topic. If there is a real issue, report it to a staff member, or take it to PM’s. If there is any fighting, I will disqualify any member according to their place in the fight. Please, just leave it to staff if there are any issues.

I will allow discussion/questions to be posted in this topic.

I’m looking forward to seeing some submissions

As said in the subject description, I am now allowing submissions for the Xbox version of Halo CE (Combat Evolved; not to be mistakened with Custom Edition ;p). I will keep that up depending on the amount of submissions. I will let it run for at least 3 competitions.

What about Halo 1 Xbox. I didn't see anything in the main post about it.

It's at the very bottom of the post. I'm allowing submissions for Halo 1 Xbox now. You can thank Kibito for that :)

hehe we gotta get everything in there. Hopefully there might be a few left to do some halo1 xbox. We'll see... :P

JK, I take it halo1 xbox follows the same rules as PC/CE? Meaning no custom BSP's, correct?

My submission for mod of the month.

Sanctuary

By: UR MAST3R

[YES] Skin mods
[YES] Sky mods
[YES] Lightmap mods
[YES] Shader mods
[YES] Scenery added
[YES] Machines added

Description

Today marks the two year anniversary of me being here at Halomods, so I decided to get back into modding and make a skin. This skin changes Burial Mounds from its harsh and barren landscape to a lush valley with ruins of a lost time. The entire map has been skinned but no weapons or vehicles are skinned and the trees have full collision. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

You may want to actually make gameplay mods besides the trees. Unless of course you did, but then again why would you post it in the skins section then...? I'm not sure a skin would qualify against an actual mod. Unless the skin is absolutely supreme and was so damn appealing mods wouldn't seem worthwhile.

Thanks but i'll probably stick with just the skin even if it can't stand up to a full mod.

Needs more actual 'mods' but besides that, it's the best submission yet.

Bubble Blast

Send your rivals plummeting upward to their doom by sticking them with buoyant bubbles!

Image

Note: The sky looks like crap in these pictures because it is animated. It looks less crappy in-game.

The Bubbler: Its uncharged shot is a small pink bubble. Each bubble impact sends the enemy straight upward by the height of about one jump. Two quick consecutive shots will blow someone to the sky.
Image

The charged shot is a very slow homing red ball that will immediately jettison someone to the sky on impact. Run toward your target to give the bubble extra speed.
Image

The Bubble Cannon:
Shoots a powerful green bubble that will splatter someone on impact, or knock him from the platform (at which point he will fall up). You only get 4 rounds, so shoot wisely.
Image

The Push Bubbler:
Fire the charged shot (yellow bubble) to pop an enemy into the air. While he is in the air, pelt him with cyan bubbles to push him backward and off the platform.

Image

Image

The lift grenade:
Toss this portable grav lift at an opponent's feet to blow him to the sky. Has a wider range than a regular grav lift, so you don't need pinpoint accuracy. There is only one on the map, however.
Image

The bubble nade:
Stick someone with it to send him you-know-where. Travels at double the regular grenade velocity.
Image

Every object on the map has custom phmo and collision, thanks to the research of neodos.

Thank you:
Neodos, the last scientist: phmo research, debugging, testing, the portable grav lift, endless support
Yamagushi: easy coll/phmo/mode resizing tutorial
Turk645: instructional mods for hlmt attachments, effect acceleration reflexive
Xzodia: Plugin development

Patch Gemini (sppf)
Retired. Thank you neodos, DemonicSandwich, DarkShallFall, Dragonfire, foxfanatic2317, GOWO and everyone in the hall of fame.
If you want to know how I did something, take apart my mods.
