you say we can't mod the bsp, but can we add buildings and such that AREN'T apart of the bsp into the map. for example dropping a small house or shack with rooms and hallways and such into the middle of bloodgulch??

As I said, additions are fine. As long as the integrity of the BSP structure remains the same.

wait, doesn't that mean that Conue cannot submitt if the BSP cannot be custom or does that mean something different?

I don't want to see stretched verts coming out of BG's ground as mountains or anything of the sort. You may add items as scenery or anything like that as new items that may blend in with the BSP, but I don't want you to touch the BSP in a modeling program.
From what I see, Conure's map is just a SP-MP with various additions using HEK and such. I do not see anything done to the BSP.

As a warning:
No submissions, no contest.
Simple as that.
I've seen what happens to MOTM competitions when they are barely dragging along, and quite frankly I'm not going to put my entire life or try to bribe anyone with money to get submissions. If I only get 2-3 submissions this month, I'm closing it. We barely made it last month.

Why aren't you allowing custom sbsp for Halo, i mean they do have the tools and tutorials to make it, you are just putting limits to their creativity... sure that way no one wants to mod.

Because it's a modding competition, not a map making competition. I'll allow custom scenery, weapons, items, etc. But no custom BSPs.
If no one likes it, they don't have to enter.

And what if i make a new map out of custom phmo and coll on halo 2 or on Halo CE?

Besides in my opinion that's not fair, modding is creativity, creating custom bsp is what all want at the end, if you don't allow this because some people can't do it, that's their problem, they can have the knowledge to do it if they want to.
It's not because custom bsp is the highest modification on the game that it's not considered as modding, it's still modding, it's not an official modification brought by bungie and anyway people mod because they like to, all modders always wanted to create their own virtual world.

And if you don't want to organise MOTM i will and i will allow custom BSP for Halo 1, see there's 3 persons that want to do custom bsp :/

But ok that's your choice :/

From the Halo PC side (really the only people wanting to do it), all they have to do is create a custom map like they would for CE, load a program, click a button, and the map is converted. It really isn't modding at all from my point of view, it's just mapping and easily converting it to a Halo PC map.
I'm not changing the rules. I thought through them with reason, and they're staying. Maybe if the competition remains popular I might have a month devoted to custom content including BSP's.

When it all comes down to it, it's a matter of what's modding and what's mapping. If I allowed custom maps submitted as mods, regular mods wouldn't stand a chance unless they were really good.
I've allowed custom scenery, weapons, scripts, etc etc. I think that's enough for now, it allows for plenty of creativity.

I agree. if we start allowing Custom Edition BSPs there really is no point behind it. With these rules, what we do shows off what we can do without creating anything custom.

Just out of curiosity . . . if we submit a mod this month, and it doesn't win, can we submit it again next month? If not, can we send it in edited?

You can't re-submit mods, no.
However, if you add upon it as maybe V2 or V3 and it isn't just "o i added a tree", then yes.

If I made the skins better, made the guns function better, added a few features . . . That would work.
