Thread cleaned. Criticism is good, but there is a difference between constructive feedback and complaining and whining. Let this the last warning to those who had their posts removed.

I stand by the fact, yes, I said fact, not propaganda, that people don't buy HM gear...They didn't buy them from Gren, they won't buy them now...I also stand by the fact that people who wear HM gear are probably going to be assaulted for being losers...It's like wearing a shirt that says "I'm a geek, but not just a geek, an uber clic geek who thinks he's cool"...

I agree. I wouldn't wear a HaloMods logo shirt.

If you make the designs not HM-specific, maybe even incorporate just great designs in general (not Halo-themed), that'd make me think about it more.

Indeed. HPDarkness makes some pretty cool designs, and I'm sure there's some people here who could make some nifty shit.

...poor judgment.

No, I would not buy HaloMods clothing or accessories.
Don't have the money or the motivation. And as noted, few, if any, bought from the old HaloMods store. Even less would buy from the new one, or so seems to be the consensus.

Veegie post seems to explain it all rather well.

In addition...

Do you wear shirts because of the reaction you will get from others or because you like/support the idea or theme to it? I'd wear it only because I like halomods, not because I want to make a statement or something.

Also, what would be the point of making random shirts that aren't exclusive to halomods? You could desing whatever you wanted yourself and have it made/bought online. There are plenty of places for that. Why use halomods to do so?

I'm guessing because then people get shirts they want to wear, and get to help the site.

I see what you are saying, and I think there is some truth to it (unfortunately, a lot of people make stupid assumptions), but most of the people I know would not take it to quite that extreme. In fact, a lot of people I know really like halo, even if they aren't real "gamer" types.

I would not mind having a halomods logo T-shirt, but I'm not dying for one either. Why? Because none of my friends mod halo or care enough to join halomods, so when someone asks me what it is it would basically just go like this:
"oh its this site about modding halo, but its pretty cool"
"oh, ok. cool."
I would rather have a shirt with an interesting design, or a logo for something I know someone else would understand or relate to.

Why does it matter what merchandise is sold? As long as Halomods receives even the slightest portion of the profit, why not do it?

Because it will probably cost more money just to create the merchandise than said profit, if there will be any at all.

There are places where they make the shirts to order. You simply raise the profit margin to whatever you desire.

Do you not know how Cafepress works?

Selling merchandise is 100% free. A portion of every sale goes to Cafepress, and the rest goes to the seller.

For example:

Halomods sells T-shirts for $20. Someone buys a T-shirt; $15 goes to Cafepress, $5 goes to Halomods. From there, that $5 can be split up even more if Halomods agreed to give a portion of every sale to the maker of the T-shirt design.

I've read some of your ideas, and I'm willing to change the rules a bit. Would you be willing to buy a HaloMods shirt if the HaloMods logo were incorporated in a larger design that focuses on something other than our logo - or perhaps a shirt that does not mention HaloMods at all? I will allow any kind of submissions from here on. Also, keep in mind that cafepress offers a range of items - not just shirts. Check out the website.

Off topic: I deleted more posts. I dont see a problem with making a nice t-shirt design and then maybe somewhere on the lower end of the shirt stick a small HaloMods logo on there.

Also take note that a Halomods shirt does not have to contain the words "Halo" and "mods."

A neat looking design featuring the letters "HM" could suffice.
