The New HaloMods -- Official Q&A

Off topic chat. Basically anything that doesn't concern halo or halo modding can go here.

What do you think of the new Halomods?

I absolutely despise the new look.

It is.
I don't like it, I like seeing the same people every day, all here for the same
interests. growth is good and all, but this is the wrong way to go about it.
I don't think that it's a big enough section to attract a huge influx of people. Those are all fairly common things that I'm sure people here share the same interest in.

I really don't see what the problem is.

So some mods retired and admins left, the forum got upgraded, and a few new boards were added. So what?

Yeah I'm kinda indifferent now (except for the staff part :() it appears the theme has been fixed mostly (that or my eyes were fucked last night). I just don't care enough because I have become mainly just a cafe' user and an occasional elsewhere poster. At least now I can talk about iPod touch stuff with others.

I dislike the flash tags being turned off and that I know they will never be turned on no matter how much I pester :P

Bad idea. Keep it fair for everyone.
You've obviously never created a php forum before. To keep it "fair for everyone," they'd have to re-write the script (and every other modification, mind you) that they wrote for the default one again. This is for EVERY LAST ONE. So, no, it is fair.

How am i acting like it when i have said all along i do not have power.
Jesus christ you need to back up , ive not even joked about it all i have said is i am a dev but do NOT have power.
Quit acting like everyone is against you we want the same thing you want.
I've actualy been one of the people trying to keep things in order and not point fingers, i was also the one who suggested the members designed the new logo.
If that is classed as acting like ive got power then sorry for trying to help you lot.

You come out of nowhere, and start telling people they should calm down and then start talking to Tural like he's out to get you, or like he's rude to you... you even have it in your signature. Tural has done nothing but kept this site in line/check the whole time he's been here.

Also, maybe I(we) don't want your help. Maybe I(we) liked the site as it was.

*I included the parenthesis around the "we" because I like to speak for myself.

No. I don't even have it on this computer.

I figured out that I don't like you because I don't like your grammar. To me, it makes you look very unprofessional. However, as you've stated many times before, you're not staff/dev so you're a normal person that chooses not to type in correct grammar. Nothing more to discuss here.

I love the new main page.

The skin and staff are my biggest beefs. Skin: fixable. Staff: unlikely.

You wouldnt be using normal grammar either if it was 4am and had been working flat out to try and attend everyones needs.
Might want to look up dyspraxia something as well does wonders.

So are the inline ads what are paying for the site now? If it cost Gren $150 a month for a dinkier server, how is sourceguy covering this?

I like the new front page and how you can submit mods for advertising.
And the forum needed upgrading to phbBB3, I hated the old system, though, you should try getting a new skin and have it so people can have a choice between the current and the one here http://forums.remnantmods.com/index.php I think it is subsliver2 or something...
might make some people stop bitching, though, they may never stop.

Also, I would like to ask you how you guys up graded from phpbb2 to pbpbb3, I have been trying to find out how for a friend.

Thanks and good luck with halomods.

And what is wrong with forums regarding other mod-able engines/games?
And really, I don't care who the staff are, as long as they do a good job and are not crazy with power.

It's a pet peeve of mine. I wish it wasn't, although there's not much I can do to control that.

Woah(!), I havn't been online in a bill-gillion years! Personally I like the old look better, but then again I liked the look before that even better. But I'm not really angry. I mean, at least this site is up and running.
