What do you think of the "new Halomods"?

Off topic chat. Basically anything that doesn't concern halo or halo modding can go here.

Why do you assume that SourceGuy has to be an active poster to maintain the community? I imagine developing this forum has taken up a lot of his time. As far as I recall, SourceGuy is a friend of Grenadiac. It would make sense for Grenadiac to hand the forum over to someone he trusts. Going by your own logic, you joined in 2007, so what would you know? I guess this drama is truly showing that there's a troll in everyone. You need to learn to give credit where credit is due and realise that people have developed this new version of HaloMods for you, for free.

I appreciate the posts from those who have been mature about this, but some people need to stop jumping on the troll bandwagon when the opportunity arises...

And I love how my perfectly legitmate post regarding HaloMods and it's changes was deleted.

So much for fair leadership and Staff etiquette.

I appreciate Veegie, shadowkhas etc. being somewhat subtle about stepping down, but what Tural and, to an extent, GTAF has done is quite laughable.
Veegie didn't step down, he was demoted *** ages ago. How many times do we have to *** say you have no idea what you are talking about, so don't say anything. God damn just shut up.
Sorry dear, didn't mean to rattle your cage. I stated before that i barely post in this forum anymore, and I was tipped off by somebody that a few moderators stepped down, including Veegie.
Calm the fuck down and stop being a little brat about this situation. I'm sure I have the gist of what's going on. I just deem it unreasonable to go around posting shit like "SOURCEGUY IS A BAD ADMIN", "YOU DONT KNOW MY PROBLEMS BAWWWW", "STOP BRINGING UP MY PROBLEM, WHICH BY THE WAY IS...." (or something along the lines, don't take this literally), and going around with these stupid sigs mocking what halomods has become.
It's immature, and all in all is a pretty stupid way of "sticking it to the man". This situation didn't need this much drama. It could've been sorted out many other ways, but for some reason you guys (or in this case, Tural) seemed to take delight in alerting the whole community about their dislike for the new halomods, and sparking off a shit storm in the process.

to be completely honest i think everyone needs to chill out its just a theme change and if staff wants to resign for any particular reason that is their choice its sad to see some go but still its none of our concern what their reasoning is its just how things go its a forum people dont make a big deal about something so small please its just senseless ya know?

Read through this thread and the one titled "The New HaloMods -- Official Q&A", diamondbackk60. Then you'll see what all of this drama is about.

I'm really liking it!
I thought this site was dead for good when I left it. Came to check by every once in a half year or so?
But now.. I think I'll stay. Not because of any bad or good changes but because the site actually is active!

So you were just going by what someone said, without doing any research of your own? This is always a good idea.

Don't tell me to calm the fuck down. I've had to listen to ignorant retards like you for the past few days saying stupid shit that isn't true, but acting all high and mighty like they're better than me. People are making up their own reasons for why we left, when they've already been stated on at least one occasion.
JunkfoodMan wrote:It's immature, and all in all is a pretty stupid way of "sticking it to the man". This situation didn't need this much drama.

No, immature is starting an argument when you have no fucking idea what you're talking about, and then continuing said argument when you were just told you have no fucking idea what you're talking about. What you posted was incredibly immature, baseless, and quite frankly it was just incredibly unnecessary and served no purpose other than to provoke me and other staff members. We're not trying to "stick it to the man" or anything, we left because we disagree with the changes in attitude and punishment principles that were implemented. We were/are not obligated to be staff members. Really yes this situation didn't need this much drama but guess what every fucking user on the forum did? Said stupid shit that wasn't true, then when we try to tell them to let it go because they don't know what they're talking about, they go on these dumbass rants of their own, again acting like they're superior to us.
JunkfoodMan wrote:It could've been sorted out many other ways, but for some reason you guys (or in this case, Tural) seemed to take delight in alerting the whole community about their dislike for the new halomods, and sparking off a *** storm in the process.
Take delight? Someone was bound to make a thread asking what everyone thought of the new HM. Some people were bound to not like it. There's nothing wrong with that. We did not make this a huge deal, all of the users and the higher ups still in power who just had to chime in with their holier than thou attitudes did.

Just stop.

Unless they were more extreme than the ones that are still here, I doubt they were deleted.. because I doubt they were more extreme than some of the harsh essays we've seen. :P Shoot me a PM regarding some of your posts and maybe I can help out.

Just because there's some differences in opinions does not mean we will be tolerating flaming. Don't let it happen again, JunkFoodMan and GTAF.

Locke? I dont understand your last paragraph.

Your a decent guy and make some valid points.

I wont say them, because I dont want to start a riot here.

All I'm going to say is the Administration (minus old member admins) reminds me of a zoo. You have small animals, ferets, rabbits and parrots. You also have larger, higher up in the pecking order animals, such as lions, pandas and apes. But at the end of the day, you are all exactly the same, just average animals kept in cages in the zoo.

What I'm saying, is the staff here are not different than any one else and that is a bad thing, why? Staff should be more than just any one, they should be sensible, polite and careful thinking. The past 2 years of staff members to me seem like a bunch of random member names put into a head and the ones pulled out were made staff.

I understand this is an online forum and having peers as staff is a must, you dont want to see too detached from everything, but back in the day, the staff members were legendary, they actually deserved the staff status for their work in Halo.

I've been here awhile, except not this account.

No one likes change, I like the new forum. I dislike the new staff. I like the old staff. Make this forum the phpBB2 version using that phpBB2 theme, and make it back to what it was. You can't change a site that ran for 7 years fine, and then just immediately change it with no warning or suggestions.
