Looking for a MOV to AVI converter...

I've tried a bunch of programs, but either they're shareware or don't work. RAD Video Tools won't convert my AVIs unless it's uncompressed, and I don't really want a 1.9 GB file. Any suggestions?

I had a thread very similar to this a while ago. I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: Here you go:

Hope it helps.

I use a program called Xilisoft Video Convertor...It works great and supports all types of files. But recently I have figured out that it effs with audio. Like by the end of a 10 minute video the audio is before what actually happens by like 1 second. Sucks.

ARGH! I don't see how you Windows people survive...first of all, every program has a different GUI and has 202836712 colors all over the place, and secondly, everything has crappy restrictions on it!
And if it doesn't, then my video comes out at hundreds of megabytes! ;_;
WinAVI got the closest, except I need some stupid Quicktime Alternative codecs. WHY CAN'T IT ALL JUST PLAY NICE?!
EDIT: LOLWUT?! Now QT Alternative asks me to uninstall Quicktime. This is stupid. I'll click No and hope it works fine.
EDITx2: And now it says that it can't find a decoder, which is what it said before I installed QTA as well. Fucking Windows apps. This was much easier on OS X.
EDITx3: Oh well, I found an AVI file of the vid I wanted to convert.

Make Quicktime allow 3rd party programs to use it to decode then. I'll expect a new version of Quicktime ready by midnight. Go.
Also, QTA didn't make me uninstall Quicktime.

I'm not making a movie...I'm trying to convert a .mov to an .avi for StepMania. Anyway, I got a source file that's .avi, and all is well. Now to make StepMania time it right.

I tried that. It wouldn't convert anything but uncompressed video.

you don't have to be making a movie to use it, i use it to convert the AVI fraps makes to a .mov so they don't suck up space.

Well, like I said, it doesn't even matter anymore. I found a video (and it turns out StepMania hates it anyway).
