nooo.... The Dreamcast didn't cause the dropout of Sega from the Console race... It was the fact that the Dreamcast was too advanced for the the American Market, and couldnt gain enough momentum once the PS2 came out.
It seems pretty early to judge the PS3 or Wii for what it is at this point. As for the "not much better than the 360", the xbox sure wasn't much better than the ps2 when it came out. It'll probably be a couple of years before PS3 actually starts showing what it can do that the 360 can't, assuming it doesn't completely flop before then. What I guess will happen is that the 360 will be the new PS2 (slightly less powerful than it's rival, but more popular, more consoles sold, etc), the PS3 will be the new xbox, more powerful, less consoles sold, etc. The wii will probably just be a better selling gamecube. It probably won't get many cross-platform games, but hopefully nintendo and it's 3rd party devs can make games that appeal to gamers older than 9.
Or the 360 will be the new gamecube and make tons of Pinata games.
And I get the feeling Inferno hasn't played Final Fantasy X or XII, or Kingdom Hearts. o_O
is there going to be a new xbox anytime soon? (not the 360, after that)
