...good point. i never thought of that.

also, predictions for the end of the world by human causes are VERY inaccurate. not only will it be nearly impossible to determine what may happen 50 years in the future (just because of the massive amount of data to consider), but such a prediction will be inaccurate to the point of it being worthless. the only accurate ways to forecast armageddon is to

1: put faith in scriptures that give even a vauge date or series of events
2: look at all recorded data on potentially catastrophic events like disease outbreaks, earthquakes, large volcanic eruptions, and hurricanes to find patterns in each and find out how slight fluctuations of every possible variable effect the outcome. Then use a model developed from that to forecast when a string of catastrophic events capable of ending humanity, or rendering the world unable to support life, will happen.
3: use current astronomical models to determine when a large heavenly body will crash into earth with the potential of ending humanity or total planetary destruction
4: roll something like 995,643 d5798456 dice, minus 5798454, every day. when the result is 1 each roll, your chances of armageddon are slightly higher. or maybe not.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Uhm no, what about the Apocalypse? Not sure if that has happened before, you know the world ending, etc.
Based on Bible, which means it is technically not a prediction but technically not fact either.

World ending? People constantly have wars. Its not surprising that humans think in this sort of fashion: "If we kill ourselves then we have destroyed the Earth." Which isn't true. The Apocalypse, I think, is the general idea that all people die. For the bad things they've done and so forth. One of those things is war.

We've had a lot of wars and disease epidemics. While things might seem bad now, the Middle Ages and such would've been FAR worse.

The only worrying things for me are the problems with resources and the environment. Apparently the polar ice caps will be gone in about 60 years I think it was, and we'll have run out of fossil fuels in about 40-50 assuming we find no more deposits. This probably won't kill us off... just fuck the planet up real bad.

Aside from that, the sun engulfing the 4 innermost planets is the only thing I can see that will truly screw us up. And that won't happen for a few billion years.
