I love you forever.

I'll be getting one the summer before I head off for college, so that's not going to be for a bit. Though for a more gaming type of computer I'm building one... actually that one is going to be free hopefully (It's not a extreme top of the line computer, but it's definitely not crap...), school program <3.

Back on topic, I have no reason not to get Vista. It's like saying I'm going to stick with windows 2000 when I could be getting XP.

I'll be first in line to get Windows Vista. Then I'll get a Terabyte hard drive, why? I want to use the operating systems vice versa, because if I install Vista on the hard drive I have now I'll lose some data and some of my programs will be uninstalled, and I want nearly unlimited space. Also, Windows XP lags whenever I extract something on Dot Halo or whenever I try to run something while a virus scanners on.

Yea I'll be getting Vista, I just don't like the prospect of it taking 1GB of ram just to run the OS interface :?

Yeah, as if Window's doesn't already have terrible resource management, I wish Vista wouldn't be as much of a hog.

I will most likely get Vista, but I'll get my parents to pay for it... of course.
Vista has good 'security' when it comes to spyware and all that shit.
I don't know this for certain (as in the way it does this) but say you download some spyware, it infects your PC, you restart your PC, spyware is gone.
It pretty much re-images your PC.
Someone who has researched Vista; help me out here lol.

That's what I heard (the jist of it at least) when I was at work experience, I was too busy on their Mac Book Pro (quality investment by the way.. although I would prefer a Mac G5.. 8 RAM slots *drool*).

i don't trust any windows os to be good with security out of the box. all someone has to do is write a virus to disable that feature or inject itself into one of the os's images it makes of the computer. besides, that sounds an awful lot like the ystem restore feature with a new skin to me  .

meh, now that i have my ubuntu pc up and running, i can play with it all i want, and finish setting it up as a server in the mean time. and i still say windows is good for games and not a whole lot else, especially if the user doesn't know what they're doing.

maca i'd advise against getting a G5... or any PowerPC mac from now on... You can't install windows :P

Just wait for the Intel Mac Tower, they'll probably still have close to the same RAM capacity.

And 1GB probably isn't going to be what it's going to use 100% of the time. It'd probably be closer to 512MB, the extra 512MB is just things it'll use every once in awhile, if at all. It's an extra bit just to make it run at the best possible speeds, I would assume.

Really?? I have a motherboard (not on the computer I have now, a vacant one) with 6 RAM slots....but not 8....But I don't reccomend Macs for gamers (correct me if I'm wrong) because they don't have as many game choices.

Not anymore. With Apple's move to Intel processors, they now share an architecture, meaning Windows can be run natively on Macs (using BootCamp, or emulated using Parallels), allowing them to play any game that can be played on Windows.

Do you not understand the simple concept of rules?

I'm quite happy NOT seeing some random naked chick who probably isn't even that hot running across a field, thanks. And no, I'm not a girl, so don't even start.

If you find this kind of thing amazing, to be honest, the chances of you ever getting any are very slim. Girls don't appreciate guys who start drooling at the first mention of nudity, maybe one day when you become more mature you'll be able to grasp this concept.

Mmhmm, I really don't care. Neither will the admins when you get banned, the only reason you're still around is that most of them are sleeping.

If you can't post on topic, DON'T POST AT ALL. It really isn't difficult to understand, now, is it?

So, on topic... I may or may not get Vista. I dunno, my PC has earned the name "teh shitbox" so I'd definitely need a major updgrade, I guess I'll wait and see what it's like and then weigh it up against XP,

Doubt it. My PC is so bad it holds my Nvidia FX5200 back... it takes ages to do anything, it freezes if you so much as bump the mouse on startup...
