Insurrection - A Full-Length Halo 3 Machinima

Post by [IA]Paul »

That's right. When I say full length, I mean maybe half an hour or longer.

This is a vision. I really want to see this come to fruition. I can't do this alone, or I wouldn't be coming here. I need body and voice actors, someone with a better capture method than mine, and overall devoted people. This doesn't mean I need you 24/7, I just need you to help if you say you will.

If you think I'm all talk and no action, I have some things that may tide you over:

Firstly, I have an intro I wrote to prelude the story:
My intro wrote:It is seven years after the Covenant-Human war. Humanity has begun to rebuild. Under the watchful eye of the UNSC, things are going pretty smoothly. Due to either shock or weariness, or a mix of both, the populace has been cooperative in rebuilding and keeping the peace.

But not all is well. An old enemy of the UNSC, one more than sixty years old, has raised its ugly head once again: The Insurrectionists.

The Insurrectionists are rebels of the UNSC. They did not want to be ruled by a government rooted light-years away. Initially, their negotiations were peaceful. All they asked for was freedom. But eventually, they got violent. Bombs planted in all UNSC-controlled areas devastated their foothold on the outer colonies. The Insurrectionists were guerillas; stopping them often got innocent people in the crossfire.

Then the Covenant came, and the Insurrectionists’ rebellion was stalled; they hid from the Covenant, knowing that the Covenant didn’t care about innocents being killed. Now with the war over, the Insurrectionists are back and more aggressive than ever; their numbers are growing, and their attacks are more brutal and relentless. These recent attacks have sprouted the SPARTAN-IV program. Dozens of recruits with the right genes are being trained, augmented, and suited for battle. These are the best of the best. One such Spartan is Matthew “Guns” Hartling. He leads a team of two veteran SPARTAN-IVs. While the rest of the Spartans defend against Insurrectionist bomb attacks, Guns’s team prevents such attacks by going to the source.

Now, Guns and his team are going on yet another operation. But this one is looking for a secret, one that can turn the epic stalemate of the war into a checkmate. The rest of the story is written in Insurrection.
If writing can't attract you, how about these sexy wall-papers created by my good friend and adviser jsk1016?

Matthew "Guns" Hartling, squad leader and pilot.

Jason Price, sniper and stealth specialist.

Image
Paul Russell, heavy weapons specialist and cocky badass.

Standard Insurrectionist (Yes, I realize "category" is misspelled)

Image
Codenamed "Tomcat," this Insurrectionist leader is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of innocents before and after the Covenant War, and the deaths of almost all the SPARTAN-IV's.

I hope you can help out and if you are interested, I'll send you my current copy of the script.

I can body act and try to voice act. I'm a small time machinimator myself so any troubles you might hit I might have been there.

I've read all the Halo books until COLE Protocol, and I don't remember any records of them killing tens of thousands of civilians. They were fighting the Empire that the UNSC had become. The government is actually a oligarchy or a plutarchy, whichever floats your boat.

Well, one quote from Contact Harvest illustrates a story of a huge liner (easily with more than ten thousand people on it) being utterly destroyed by an automated Insurrectionist shuttle filled with explosives in it. Based on this example, it's easy to assume the Insurrectionists have followed through with similar actions.

Well if you remebered that incindent fully, the Innies had nothing to do with that. If You remember Lighter Than Some showed Mack how to copy the Oracle symbol to lure the covenant back in range. The UNSC had sent the Transport to destroy the ship as a last desperate attempt to clear for the rest. Here is an actual quote instead of just saying there is;

HALO: Contact Harvest Page 387
"We left so many of them behind"
"It could have been all of them." Avery's tone was harsher than he'd intended. Rubbing the back of his neck, he tried a different tactic. "Your plan worked ma'am. Better than I thought it would."
Jilan laughed bitterly. "That's quite a compliment"

Now according to Jilan 215 containers made it through equalling 250,000-260,000 civilians. Now for one of those containers to carry more than 10,000 civilians compared to over 1,000 civilians just doesn't add up.

I think you are think of the Colonial Militia which help the UNSC, and where Pvt. Jenkins is recuited from.

Remember, after the Human-Covenant War only 200 million humans were alive. An incredible amount of luck would have to be there for than number to increase after only seven years.

Trust me, I know I know too much about Halo, and it is a problem I am working on. :D

Wrong part of the book. That's not what I was mentioning. If I had the book, I'd quote it, but I'm on vacation.

I know a lot, too.
