Have an idea for a project, but need to assemble a team? Here is the place to do it.

I figured out a cool variation for the intro this morning. But all I have to record is the mic on my ibook, then garageband to save it...

=/

I'll see how it comes out...

Edit: Wait, did anyone decide on what game it would be? Halo 1 or Halo 2?

Umm, I might be able to do a lead part. I'm not making any promises, though.

I can possibly do drums, keyboard, but I'm set for bass and guitar. I can also mix it with my recording hardware. But like Peppers, no promises. Also, I think we should give the credit of this idea to the guy who thought of it. :p (jk)

Unless you're a one man choir, I don't think we need you. =x

CaptainPoopface is on the job. I play electric guitar, baritone guitar, 5-string bass, drums (7 years of percussion and marching band), keyboards, software synths, flute, cello (don't own one though), viola (badly), trombone, and didgeridoo. I also sing, but I'm not going to for this.

I have an armada of outstanding sample libraries that are difficult to distinguish from the real thing, even for people with trained ears. Pianos, harps, strings, horns, woodwinds, an up-to-date choir library that is superior to the one used in Halo and Halo 2 (the Bungie composer uses an old choir library called Symphony of Voices, which I believe is from 1998). My choir can form intelligible words! I can make a boys choir or women's choir or men's choir say "Haaaaaaaallllloooooo roxxxxxoooooorrrrs." So I'm not limited to the standard "oh" and "ah" crap.

Music is my thing.

There are a few caveats though.

I'm a perfectionist and a TOTAL-talitarian. It's a big part of why I learned to be the whole band. I don't so much collaborate as beat people into submission. I can contribute to other people's recordings if there is something hanging you up. Drums, for example, are very difficult to record acoustically, and most people here probably don't have top end drum machines or soft synths for electro drums. I've got the bases covered there.

I'm also not too keen on the Halo theme. It's severely overused and not a good melody to begin with. The Halo soundtrack in general is melodically weak, probably because it's designed to be in the background or to underscore the action without becoming the focus.

And I hate wanky electric guitar. I hate Steve Vai and his wanky guitar intro. We definitely don't need another wanky guitar version of the Halo theme, and I want no part of one. There, I've said it. I feel better. If I sound like a jerk, it's probably because I am a jerk.

A jerk with a lot of gear and a modicum of talent.

And can we please skip the part where I get flamed just for voicing my opinion about Steve Vai and someone says, "I'll be you can't even play 43 notes per second like Vai." Thanks.

I second that, and agree with the skip the flaming part...
