What is Real Time Halo?

Post by Eaton »

I've been hearing it all around this site and I have looked for an answer, but I can't find one. So, what exactly is it, how do you use it, and what can you do with it?

Editing values in the game in real-time. As you play, you can change some values in the game, causing them to instantly update as you are playing. It edits what is loaded into the memory, allowing you to make modifications without altering the map files. It requires the Xbox to be running debug bios, which allow for such memory alterations.

Sound cool! So, how exactly do you use it? Do I have to modify my bios?

You can use XIG which temporarily loads debug bios, you can find it in the "usual places".

RTH is RealTimeHalo, Its a process of editing the memory of your xbox. So tings are stored in 1 part of memory and others are stored in another. One of the memorys can be edited and what ever is edited will be changed ingame. Things like models, weapons, huds, vehicles, projectiles, effects and all the other small and not to major objects in a map file can be edited then the meta of the object will be updated. The current application called entity can do it but not as proper as it should. Inception however can do it 100% proper. Its alot of fun and can save alot of time. You do however need a Debug xbox or an xbox with a Debug bios for the process to work.

I posted that a while back when someone else asked. ^_^ yay for long posts!!

maybe it's not finished or in good enough shape for release yet...These could be reasons...not saying they are but be patient...or forget about it altogether.

Would something public like OpenXDK work for RTH?
Sig over file size limit.
