Lord Hood in Multiplayer

Ok, after searching around the forum I haven't found the exact item I'm looking for.

I want to take Lord Hood from Campaign, put him into a multiplayer map, and swap the Master Chief with him.

Is this possible using only Entity? Or better yet, if someone can find a tutorial on this, that'd be great. I remember seeing one a long time ago but I couldn't find it in the tutorials section.

This is off the top of my head and without actually testing it...

- Take the Lord Hood Biped from the SP map and save it (recursive, parsed)
- Build it into your map
- Go to the hlmt of Lord Hood and null the udlg sounds
- Go to masterchief_mp and swap the hlmt with lord hood

There's bound to be some bugs, as there usually is with using characters other than the elite and masterchief, but nothing major should be wrong.

He'll probably need to edit the jmad for the lord hood so he can pick-up all weapons, look at others tutorials like playing as an odst, brute etc it's the same thing for that part.

In entity if you save him without checking the sounds box you don't need to null the [udlg]
Maybe you do for some people, but I've never had to.

doesn't the biped screw up if its being transfered with entity?

not really its the same concept for every other biped you just have to play with the tags a little so you can pick up every weapon. kinda how marines only use everything but like sword. if you find the how to put a marine or brute into mp then do the same with the lord hood biped and it will work but then like i and everyone else has said you just have to tinker with it.

You'll run into much greater issues with his animations...

Like Cortana, Lord Hoods [jmad] lacks animations for combat and just plain walking.

However, the marine [jmad] works on Lord Hood's model so you need to swap his [jmad] to the marine's before you transfer him.

Hey, I'd just like to give a huge thank you to you guys!

I decided to just put a marine in there, and I used the search button to find some useful tutorials, allthough the first three pages weren't near anything I wanted.

Well, just for future reference, how can I swap a jmad of something? I'm taking a stab in the dark and saying you would go into the hlmt tag, choose the character (lord_hood) and swap the only jmad that's available in the Refelexives.


Just another question, how can I make it so that the marines use all weapons? I looked around in the meta editor under the hlmt of the marine but couldn't come up with anything weapon-related.

At least I'm trying before asking ^_^!
