Honor Guard

ok so i spawning AI elites but no matter if i change their spawn permutation, they still stay honor guards? any help?

Erm how are you spawning the elites? I know that if you for example replace the Jackle bipd with the elite bipf (or should that be hlmt not sure) and you then spawn jackels then you get all sorts of messed up elites.

Best bet is to start over again with that elite AI, that's what I did in that situation.

Yes that was obvious. But what I mean is say you spawn some AI Jackals, then you swap their hlmt tag to that of the elite. This way you'd actually have jackals that look like elites...

I believe that he is spawning the characters in the AI Squads reflexive (offset 532) and has changed the "Spawning Permutation" to try and get the Honor Guard variation of the Elite to spawn. I would help you, but I never bothered changing the "Spawning Permutation" before. Anyways, good luck!

Oh, you're trying to make the Elite so they are NOT Honor Guards. Sorry about that. Why don't you just build the character into your map from another SP map, like newmombasa.map (Metropolis)?

actually after thinking a bit i figured it out and wrote a tut for people with the same problem.
