Crap, another darn main menu question...dont you hate them!

Okay so here is the skinny.

I can add modded map "a" to the main menu no problem and play the map yadda yadda yadda....

However, when I try to overright one of the original maps with modded map "a" there is no juice.......

do I have to do anything special to over write the stock maps?! When I do over write the stock map with the modded map I DO leave the stock "allocation number." ex: ascension is numbered 80, so when I replace ascension with modded map "a" I leave it with the number 80.

I've actually tried it with a different number too and it still doesnt work....blah. Any ideas?

How about you just keep your original Mainmenu the way it is...
Then take modded map "a" and overwrite original map "a" with the modded map "a" and go and play it.

Don't screw with the main menu if you are going to overwrite something.

Thanks for your input. I do believe i've tried that but I will try that again and see what happens. Have you done this?

edit: okay I tried that....no juice. This is what I did in H2edit of the mainmenu.map

Opened ascension which is map 0

replaced the value of 80 with 450
changed the name of the map "ascension" to "map a"
under scenario name changed it to: scenarios\multi\halo\map a\map a
hex edited "map a" and changed the original map to resemble ^
saved the global tag
fixed encryption on both mainmenu.map and map a.map
ftped both over to xbox
ascnesion is not listed in the line up (yay)
"map a" is listed in the line up (yay)
when I try to load "Map a" it wont work....... GAY!!!

also. "map a's" picture is still that of ascension (the little map logo picture)

so I think something else needs to be done? anyone wanna help?

Ok first off thats a really odd way of doing it.

Either leave main menu alone and just call your mod acension then overwrite ascension or add Map A to the main menu as 450 and leave ascension at 80
