FTP Problem

well i was started modding a couple of years ago but then i got halo 3 so i stopped and now i am starting modding again. theres a problem when i try to ftp in says some error the xbox is connected properley because it connects to the net fine (xlink kai works) but it doesnt let me ftp can someone tell me how to fix this error

Your cable is probably set to "obtain IP address automatically", give it an IP address. Same for your Xbox.

i tried that and it gave me this error
cannot establish connection to 192.168.etc
