Modding on XBL for machinima?

I was playing a game of SWAT on XBL with a couple of my friends. One of them mentioned how in a clan he used to be in, one of the guys modded a map and played Xbox Live with it so it could help a machinima movie their clan was making. The other guy said "You can't do that, that's cheating!" And they got into this huge argument. But it made me curious- is modding on XBL for the sole purpose of machinima a bad thing?

It's a hard decision. Considering that it's not neccessarily cheating, it's still modding on XBL, which I know everyone on Halomods hates. But then again, for making a movie?

In my opinion, I don't think mods should be put on XBL, machinima or not, for any reason. But what are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them. :)

Modified content on XBL for any reason is not allowed. It's irrelevant whether the purposes for it are innocent and productive; It's just not allowed.

That's pretty much it.

No, modding on XBL for machinima is stupid, especially since they could just do it over XBC or Kai.

There is no excuse for using modified content on Live. There are other alternatives that work fine, as Voltage said.
