Repurchasing maps
I just got a new Live account for my 360, different name and everything, and I'm wondering, do I have to buy the new maps again? Is there a way to get around this?
And if you're just going to say, "You should have just migrated it n00b," get out of my sight. I have my own reasons.
Help will be greatly appreciantuliated.

You will have to pay again for the maps on a new account unless the maps already exist on the console.bibbit wrote:I just got a new Live account for my 360, different name and everything, and I'm wondering, do I have to buy the new maps again? Is there a way to get around this?

And forget about having a friend sign in on your 360. They'll charge you for every console you wish to download the maps on...
Basically, someone will have to fork over the four bucks...

Also, yeah I think you're going to have to buy them again.

I was told that if you have already purchased the maps with one gamertag, you can migrate it, and (just like it does anyway) it will say "already purchased" and you can re-download them for free. But whatever, that doesn't apply to me.OwnZ joO wrote:You would need to repurchase the maps either way, so it doesn't matter that you got a new gamertag, you have to purchase them for every console that they're on.
..............What? Oh, it took me a minute to decipher that...newbymodder wrote:ya haha sgt peppers thats funny hahaha its okay bibbit i misspell crap all the time and usually hmm lets see detox gives me stuff bout it lol or darkshallfall either way but ya i learned when i was gona download them to my um hardmodded box so i said screw this then the patch came out for them on the main menue ect so i was like cool now i don't have to do all the work

No, you can't migrate it from console to console, because then people could get the maps for free on other consoles for their friends by bringing their gamertag over to their houses. You have to buy them individually for each console that you use them on.bibbit wrote:I was told that if you have already purchased the maps with one gamertag, you can migrate it, and (just like it does anyway) it will say "already purchased" and you can re-download them for free. if you did account revovery on an xbox that didn't have the maps then would they be already purchased if you updated it through that account? im just wondering because then you could do that but i bet not since every harddrive has an ID that microsoft has thats why if you put in a larger hard drive it will sometimes ban you from xbl even if its not a mod just more space because then your harddrive ID that you used to make you gamertag is different

doesn't matter. If the hard drive does not contain the map pack, it must be purchased. Account recovery having someone else sign in and download the maps isn't gonna give you free maps. Someone will have to pay for the maps for your 360.
