ummm. yea this, about halo CE being better than halo PC, is true exept that NOBODY is playing i have over 600 maps and i got like 75 servers seriosly whats the point of something having potential if its not gonna live up to the potential. (and i DO have the maps that are popular)

Sorry to be the one to ask the dumb question but I don't get it. Is haloce an add on to were u have to buy the first Halopc then download haloce kind of like sims?

It is an installer and after that you can just play it by clicking the haloce icon. You will still be able to play halo regular, but as soon as you have seen some of the new maps most people dont want it anymore

You should play haloCE (halo custom edition) because:
-you can play custom made maps, which means MORE maps and new maps
-netcode has been improved, in other words: the "lag" halo has was taken away and you dont have to lead your targets
-bugs were fixed
-regular halo wont get updates anymore, haloCE will
-you can make maps yourself, by installing HEK (halo editing kit) (more info at the bottom)
-Haloce has a future regular halo doesnt
-There are new menu's by pushing f2 or f3 , giving your teammates names above their heads or showing the gamerules.
-There is no more cheating, because bungie took care of that
-A bunch of very good modders is going to recreate levels from halo2 and since halo2 probably wont come out for pc this is as close as you could get . (WHEN the map is out; below is a link to all maps that are out so you will find it there.) I think going here will convince a lot of people for haloce as well

Both HaloCE are pretty large downloads (over 150MB) so it is best to download it with Download Accelerator Plus,
that way, when a server times out you dont need to restart your download.

Just download and install it, then when you want to download one of these below, click right mouse button and press download with DAP.

Sometimes when you download a HaloCE map or something else it will be in a format that ends with .rar or .zip, if you cannot open these use winrar,

Further on there are two good maps released, nightcamp and claustrophobia, CLICK A PIC TO DOWNLOAD, the pics dont do it good, they have great gameplay and many tricks also it looks 10 times better ingame.

You need to click "filters" in the internet lobby and then select yes when it asks, show user created maps.
You first need to download them, once you have download them, unzip or unrar them and paste them into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps

I think that covers it and everyone wanting to start with playing haloCE.

So, what do you need to play this? Do I still need Halo PC? Or can I just use the CE? Does it have its own CD key? The reason I ask this is, I don't have Halo PC, and I already have it for the Xbox. I don't want to pay for a game I already own. I only want it for the multiplayer anyway, as I don't have Xbox live.

Well, you wouldn't be able to play it, because in order to run Halo CE, you would need to have a Halo PC CD-Key (which you can get by buying Halo PC, unfortunately.)

So, you would have to buy Halo PC, again, just to play Halo CE. However, there are other was to get it, but I'm not saying how.

Besides, I always have to lead my targets to hit them, regardless of being Combat or custom. Even on LAN games.

For the other thing...the moment your brain sends the command to move your finger to push the left mouse button already lag occurs, it's unavoidable.

You can avoid it by having good hardware and a very good connection but lag will still occur.

HaloCE's netcode has been improved and that''s why LESS lag occurs.
