3ds max help

Hey does anyone know how to use the link tool in 3ds max. I keep trying to link my frame gun to my model and it isnt working. Any help is appreciated

Press H and choose "Display Subtrees".Cause if you link and you odn't have it checked you will not know if it is linked

thanks but now ihave another question whenever i try to eport to jms i always get an error message. This is only after i link the gun to the frame though. Need help badly
