Sapien crash

Post by Patrickh »

When I open Sapien and load ANY scenario, including tutorial, and freshly downloaded ones, sapien loads the scenario, the sound comes on and level shows up for about 1 second, then closes. Here's the debug.txt:

I tried uninstalling then redownloading and installing HEK to no avail. I can't seem to figure this out, post if you have any ideas. Thanks in advance.

1) Open Sapien as normal, but don't load any .scenario files yet.
2) Bring Task Manager up.
3) Right click the sapien.exe task, and select "Set Affinity".
4) Make sure only one box is ticked under the CPU list.
5) Use Sapien as normal.

=)

lame, when i click set affinity, it says access is denied :?
Vista can be annoying with the whole permissions BS... takes like 10 security checks to rename a folder. Are you sure you're sure you're sure you want to rename this folder? :x
Do you know a way around that?
Also, I just opened tutorial, and it stayed open for like 5-10 seconds before crashing... if that means anything.

Right click the folder and go to properties. Then click security and press the edit button. Click users and check the full control box below.

well ive gotten it working, heres how:

run sapien as administrator
go into windows\system32 and run task manager as admin
now set the affinity to only 1 core (it will give you an error if you dont run task manager as admin)
continue using sapien as normal

thanks for the help guys, i really appreciate it :D
