Water why are you so complicated? Stop crashing 3ds plz.

gah...

plz someone explain makeing water. what i did was a made a new plane named it stream then linked it to frame. then i made a new multisubobject and made one material called water! applyed it to the plane called stream. then i finsihed it up by giving it a uvw and the smoothing group 2. saved and hit export... and BAM!! 3ds fliped out and crashed... so Wtf? any ideas? :?

still crashing.. how do i do the uvw and how do i make the textures? + can i make the water a actual part of the main level bsp or will that just screw it up? :?

ok so i got it too export but now im getting errors saying that i have surfaces not clipped to any leaves !?! explain plz :?

should explain it right there, but it doesn't cause problems as far as I know. Too unrap uvw select the faces you want to edit go to modifier list, then down to unrap uvw. On the right click the edit button. A window should pop up you can edit it in there.

Go to the link i posted then go to level compilation then scroll down to common errors and solutions it says that same error there and tells you what you can do fix it. I don't think it does much I've had that error and not seen any problems in my maps.

Your 3ds crashes when you.......?

Make your plane, DONT NAME IT, just texture it, name the TEXTURE NAME to

water

and link it to the frame. Dont delete anything, just make it, texture it, and jms it.

Now it should work.

ABOUT "LEAVES" .... Ill check it out.

yea i got that far but now when ever the plane comes into collision i get the eror i said above... god thsi is complicated for somereason. do i need to make a seperate multi sub object for the water texture? :?
