Ok,
everyday I enter the forum i see that many have the same problem as the others wit tool.exe.So i write this topic to help you with tool as good as i can:
1.Why use tool?go to
www.cortana.org and under quick links download "urangutan".Its an easy way to build tags and the cache file.
Or use "HEKter" to create your .bitmaps tags. You get it under:
http://www.levels4you.com/sections/halo ... hercat=125
2.If you don't want to download this stuff(but it's recommended)
make sure that your jms. file is in the right directory.
If there is "couldn't read map file '.toolbeta.map" ignore it it doesn't mean anything.
Ok i hope this help a little bit.

hey man thanks for the tool++ idea i tried it and it says tool command completed! but my model is still a jms file. do i have to change the extension to gbx myself of what? heres the source directory to my model if it helps C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\data\Vehicles\ufo\Models\teapot.JMS (this is where my model is) for the source directory should i just choose C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\data\Vehicles\ufo\Models ? cause it says tool command completed but nothing happened. plz explain very clearly waht to do.

It spits it out in the tags directory. Not the data directory. And dont bump topics.

If you go to Halo Custom Edition/Data that's where the directory structure exists for .jms and .tga models and bitmaps, respectively, You compile them into tags, which are put into Halo Custom Edition/Tags
